Hi everyone,

I’m facing persistent issues with my Acer TV (Model R4) after the recent OTA software update(V8-T851MGL-0001627 & Android TV OS Build UKR1.250114), including:

- Remote pairing resets every time the TV reboot

- Voice assistant and sound mode settings behaving erratically

Acer support has only suggested a technician visit — with charges — even though the problems appear to be software-related and started only after their official update.

I’m wondering if anyone in the community has access to or knows where I can download an older firmware version for the R4 model, prior to this update, so I can roll back and restore stable performance.

If you’ve already done a manual install or have archived versions from previous OTA drops, I’d be grateful if you could share the link or file. Even pointers to Acer’s official archive (if it exists) would help.

Thanks in advance for any help!

The remote pairing issue on your Acer TV after an OTA update, where the pairing resets upon reboot, is likely due to a software glitch or a problem with the update itself. Try these steps: 1) Reboot the TV. 2) Check for another update.

    Troubleshooting Steps:
    1. Power Cycle the TV:
Unplug the TV from the power outlet, wait a few minutes, and then plug it back in and power it on. This can resolve temporary glitches.
    2. Check for Updates:
Ensure your TV is connected to the internet and check for any available software updates. Sometimes, a subsequent update can resolve issues introduced by a previous update.
    3. Re-Pair the Remote:
Follow the pairing instructions for your specific Acer TV model to re-pair the remote.
    Important Considerations:
    OTA Updates:
OTA (Over-the-Air) updates are generally safe, but issues can arise. Ensure you are downloading updates from a trusted source, such as directly from the manufacturer.
    Rollback:
If you are comfortable with more advanced troubleshooting, and if your TV supports it, you might be able to rollback to a previous firmware version if a rollback option is available. However, this is generally not recommended unless you are familiar with the process.
