laptop camera issue in Aspire A715-51G, its not working

Hi,

I have Aspire A715-51G, for a month I have had camera issues.

I use camera software, CAMERA, from microsoft store, (when I had issues I used other softwares too but result was the same)

The camera dont usually work properly. It says "camera isnt attached"

When I restart my laptop, I see camera at device manager. When I click on camera and run the application, it again says "no camera it snot attached"

at device manager, I check and open "the hidden devices" my camera icon is grey. passive.

after a few attempts it starts running fine, after a few days issues start again..

I have opened that topic because I have done everything I know.

At last yesterday I formatted my laptop and installed win 11 again, updated iris graphic driver to latest. Everything was fine till now.. a moment ago camera started not to work.

It mustnt be a physical thing.. everytime I restarted laptop, camera appeared at device manager and sometimes work fine. if it doesnt work, it disappears and goes to hidden devices.

The problems that you are experiencing with the camera is that the camera is faulty and its not functioning properly, you need to replace the camera with the oem cameras that your Aspire A715-51G model was fitted with, which are all the cameras listed below.

Search the web for these oem cameras with the Acer part #'s and change the camera yourself, as its not a big job, if you are computer savvy, if you are not, then buy an external USB camera from Logitech for Creators StreamCam which is one of the best or if you don't want to spend so much, then buy the cheaper CREATIVE Live and use that, as the oem cameras will be about that price too, as the external cameras are just as good or they are an even a better cam than the oem Acer fitted camera. Also worth checking:

I have disable enrgy save option..

camera has been working since yesterday. now it's gone again.

not tried others yet.

last bios was changed about months ago.. no new one at the moment.. camera software belongs to microsoft. win11 installs it.

As I've explained it to you above "ITS THE CAMERA ITSELF" its not a software issue, if the camera comes on and off and then dies completely, change the oem cam from the list above or buy an external USB cam that hangs off the screen, as its allot cheaper and quicker to install😁 Good luck.

I have done what you said.

Windows has run and installed 24h2 repair update. So far camera works fine.

(also i have tried "bios default" once again)

if persists I will change the hardware.

*today also I read that windows is working on 25h2 to fasten the windows

Hey, it sounds like your camera is randomly disconnecting at the system level. Since you’ve already reinstalled Windows and updated drivers, it could be a loose internal connection or a power management issue. Try disabling "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" in Device Manager > Camera > Power Management tab, if that doesn’t help, it might need a hardware check.

It sounds like you've already done a fair amount of troubleshooting. Since this issue persists even after a clean Windows install and driver updates, it could be a hardware connection issue - such as a loose camera cable - despite appearing intermittently. You might want to have it checked by a technician.

After reading all the comments below and even not getting a proper solution, the only possible solution which i thought for myself if i am stuck in same position was to sell this laptop and buy another one to avoid frustration :') maybe you should do it as well..
