Hello guys,

My acer nitro 5 laptop won't install nitro sense, when I run setup.exe it says "This installation package could not be opened. Verify that the package exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows installer package."

I don't know know what else to do I tried multiple online troubleshooting methods but it always gives this error message.

Depends which Nitro 5 model you have, as with my Nitro 5 AN515-56, I can install Nitro Sense withing the actual app folder itself, so follow the below steps and see if it works with your whatever model Nitro 5 AN515-xx or 5AN517-xx you have, good luck and hope this works out for you.

Try these steps and see if NS installs:

    1. Download the last version of NS for your model laptop
    2. Open > NitroSenseV3.1 folder
    3. Click the APPXBUNDLE File > then click Install as it should start the installation process and work and NS will associate with the keyboard key also.

Uninstall Any Existing NitroSense VersionRemove NitroSense completely. Next, go to Acer’s official support site, enter your exact Nitro 5 model (such as AN515-58), and download the NitroSense installer listed under Applications. After extracting the download, locate the file with the .appxbundle extension and install it first — this step helps prepare the system for the correct setup. Once the bundle is successfully installed, run the setup.exe from the same folder.

    Hi Diya811,

Thank you for the tips, I tried that as well and when I launch nitrosense after installing nothing happens, and setup.exe still won't run the same error pops up, i'm not sure if something could be wrong with the laptop itself as I just bought it.

To fix the "Setup.exe error" when installing NitroSense on an Acer Nitro 5, first, uninstall any existing NitroSense version. Then, download the latest version from Acer's official support site, matching your specific model. Before running the main setup, locate and install the .appxbundle file from the extracted download to prepare the system. Finally, run setup.exe from the same folder. If the issue persists, try rebuilding Windows performance counters using the command lodctr /R in an elevated Command Prompt before reinstalling.

    Here's a more detailed breakdown:
    1. Uninstall Existing NitroSense:
Remove any previous versions of NitroSense from your system through the Control Panel or Settings app.
    2. Download from Acer Support:
Go to the official Acer support website and locate the NitroSense download for your specific Nitro 5 model (e.g., AN515-58).
    3. Extract the Download:
Unzip the downloaded file to a convenient location on your computer.
    4. Install the .appxbundle:
Inside the extracted folder, you'll find a file with the .appxbundle extension. Double-click it to install it. This step is crucial for proper system preparation.
    5. Run Setup.exe:
After the .appxbundle installation, run the setup.exe file from the same folder.

    6. Rebuild Performance Counters (if needed):
If the issue continues, open Command Prompt as an administrator and execute the command lodctr /R.
    7. Reinstall NitroSense:
After rebuilding performance counters, attempt to reinstall NitroSense by running setup.exe again.
    8. Check for Hidden Files:
If the WindowsApps folder is not visible, enable hidden files in File Explorer settings.
    9. Grant Permissions:
If you encounter permission issues when accessing the WindowsApps folder, take full control of the folder and its contents.
    10. Locate and Launch NitroSense.exe:
If the NitroSense icon disappears after launching, navigate to C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\AcerIncorporated.NitroSenseV31_3.1.3052.0_x64__48frkmn4z8aw4\Win32 (or similar, based on your version) to find the NitroSense.exe file and launch it.
