What Acer model monitor do you have (as that would help) as its also advisable to have a surge protected power board in case of these things happening, but first check the power adapter if its outputting any current as that is the first thing that can short out, as that is the only way that you can make sure that your monitor is getting power?

If it doesn't turn on, then its a main power rail issue that the lightning has affected and you will need to take your monitor to a tech in your area as it could either have a mosfet or a capacitor that has burned the power rail out and that is why your monitor is not turning on. Do all the above and let us know how you made out, good luck.

The lightning may have damaged your monitor or power supply. Try a different outlet and cable. If it still doesn’t work, it likely needs repair or replacement.

A lightning strike can damage electronic devices like your monitor. The most likely scenario is that the power supply in your monitor or the monitor's internal circuitry has been damaged by a power surge caused by the lightning. You should first check the power outlet and the monitor's power cable to ensure they are working correctly. If the monitor still doesn't turn on, it's likely that professional repair or replacement is needed.

    Here's a more detailed breakdown:
    Possible Causes:
    Power Supply Damage:
Lightning can induce surges in electrical lines, and the monitor's power supply can be a common point of failure.
    Internal Circuitry Damage:
The surge can also damage other components within the monitor, such as the mainboard or display circuitry.
    Faulty Connections:
While less likely, a power or video cable could be damaged, preventing the monitor from turning on.

    Troubleshooting Steps:
    1. Check the Power Outlet:
Ensure the outlet is working by plugging in another device. If it's a surge protector, try plugging the monitor directly into a wall outlet.
    2. Inspect the Power Cord:
Make sure the monitor's power cord is securely connected to both the monitor and the outlet.
    3. Test with Another Cable:
If possible, try a different power cord or video cable (HDMI, DisplayPort, etc.) to rule out a faulty cable.
    4. Consider a Surge Protector:
Surge protectors can help mitigate damage from future lightning strikes, but they are not always 100% effective.
    When to Seek Professional Help:
If the monitor does not turn on after trying the above steps, it's likely that internal components are damaged.
Attempting to repair a damaged monitor without proper knowledge can be dangerous and may cause further damage.
Contact a qualified electronics repair technician or the monitor's manufacturer for assistance.

Try powering it from a different wall outlet to rule out any socket damage. Observe if the power button responds or if the LED light turns on, and press and hold the power button for 10 seconds for a soft reset. Carefully inspect the monitor’s casing and power port for visible damage such as burns, melted plastic, or unusual smells. Finally, connect the monitor to another PC or laptop to determine if the issue lies within the monitor itself or the original system
