Hello Acer Support Team,

I recently purchased the Acer SA272U E 27" 2K 100Hz monitor. However, when I connect it to my PC using the included cable or a DisplayPort cable, I can only set the refresh rate up to 75Hz. If I try to change it to 100Hz in Windows or the NVIDIA Control Panel, the screen goes black and then reverts to 75Hz after a few seconds.

_My PC configuration is:

  • GPU: RTX 2060 6GB
  • CPU: Intel Core i3 12100F
  • Motherboard: H610M
  • I have updated my NVIDIA drivers and tested different high-quality HDMI 2.0 and DisplayPort cables._

Could you please help me confirm whether this model truly supports 2K at 100Hz, and if so, which cable or settings I should use to achieve it?

Thank you very much for your support.

Best regards,

Click "Change resolution". Navigate to "Refresh rate:", which displays 60Hz. Click dropdown menu, click 100Hz, click Apply

As I mentioned above, it still shows 100Hz as an option for me to select, but when I choose 100Hz, the screen goes black, and after a short while the display comes back and reverts to 75Hz.

A black screen when selecting 100Hz likely indicates an incompatibility between your monitor's capabilities and the chosen refresh rate. The monitor might not support 100Hz at your current resolution, or the connection cable (like HDMI) might not be sufficient for the increased bandwidth.

    Here's a more detailed breakdown:-
    Possible causes:
    Monitor limitations:
Your monitor might have a maximum refresh rate lower than 100Hz, or it might not support 100Hz at the specific resolution you're using.
    Cable limitations:
Older or lower-quality HDMI or DisplayPort cables might not have the bandwidth to handle 100Hz refresh rates, especially at higher resolutions.
    Driver issues:
Outdated or incompatible graphics drivers can sometimes cause display problems when changing refresh rates.
    Incompatible settings:
The combination of resolution and refresh rate might be unsupported by your monitor or graphics card.

    Troubleshooting steps:
    1. Check your monitor's specifications:
Consult the monitor's manual or manufacturer's website to verify its supported refresh rates and resolutions.
    2. Verify cable compatibility:
Ensure you are using a DisplayPort 1.2+ or HDMI 2.0+ cable, depending on your monitor's requirements.
    3. Update graphics drivers:
Download and install the latest drivers for your graphics card from the manufacturer's website (Nvidia, AMD, or Intel).
    4. Lower the refresh rate:
If your monitor doesn't support 100Hz, try a lower refresh rate like 75Hz and check.
    5. Adjust resolution: Experiment with different resolutions to see if a compatible combination with 100Hz can be found.
    6. Check monitor settings:
Ensure your monitor's settings are configured correctly for the desired refresh rate and resolution.
    7. Boot into Safe Mode:
If you're still having trouble, try booting into Safe Mode and resetting your display settings. You can also try using Custom Resolution Utility (CRU) to reset the settings.
