As per title. I have noticed that the rear of the 2 usb-c ports does not charge the laptop. No orange light etc, but the front most port does, I have updated to the latest bios (1.64) and has not fixed the issue. Should i just take it back to John Lewis?

Both USB-C ports support USB-C charging. Check the charger type and plug, if this is the original USB-C charger that came with the unit I recommend sending it back to the retailer, you have 15 days after delivery for a full refund or to demand a new laptop.

I have the same issue with my laptop from time to time - actually quite often :(. Sometimes both USB-C ports do not work (no charging).

    Try the following:

    1. switch off laptop
    2. press the on/off button for some seconds (until keyboard light goes on and off)
    3. release on/off button and swith on laptop
    4. now, hoefully the charging may work again

Hi @hackathlete and @TechFix try to do a hard reset apparently this is an AMD issue with USB4: Swift SFE16-43(Swift Edge16) USB 4.0 port does not work properly — Acer Community

Hi @Puraw thank you for the hint. I have already found this post. If only the charging does not work, I believe that my workaraound should work too. If the port does not work at all then the hard reset may be the only (cumbersome) solution.

It turned out that my workaround does not always work. The only solutions are to wait until the battery is completely discharged (which can take some time) and this will reset the hardware, or to open the laptop and perform a hard reset.
I returned my laptop to Acer, who replaced the motherboard. However, the same problem reappeared after a while. I am in the process of returning the laptop for a second time.
