    Hi, if you upgraded to Windows11 24H2: Several users on both the Acer Community and Microsoft forums have reported that after updating to 24H2, the HID-compliant touchscreen either disappears from Device Manager or shows as “device not started.” Even rolling back drivers or reinstalling them doesn’t always help. You can try to reinstall Windows using the Windows Update recovery option in W11 24H2:

    Alternatively you can try uninstalling all the HID compliant Touchscreen devices in Device Manager and just reboot, Windows11 will reinstall a generic Microsoft driver.

    Thank you for answering

    If I reboot my laptop, will it delete all my data? because there are some important files in there.

    Rebooting your laptop won’t delete your data—it’s simply a system restart that refreshes your device without affecting personal files, apps, or settings. Data loss only happens during actions like a factory reset, clean OS install, or formatting. Still, backing up important files is always a smart precaution.

    Hi, restoring your system like I showed above will not delete your data, it will just undo the last updates and reset the registry. When you think an update is stuck check the router if you are online and if a mobile router move it closer to the laptop or change rooms, updates can take one hour to download and 30 minutes to install.

    @Puraw

    can you tell me this is part of the problem, or is this ok? Because when I check the driver details, it shows a pop-up like this. it is also the same with the pen, but the pen works well even tho sometimes it's clicking not at the right point.

    Hi @goldheana2
    That message is correct, no driver required for the Touchscreen as it is controlled by Windows. You never wrote if you are on Windows11 24H2 or version 23H2. You should not upgrade to Windows 24H2 as the BIOS has not been updated by ACER yet. If you recovered Windows as I suggested above or reinstalled Windows 23H2 and still have no working touchscreen I recommend taking the laptop to Acer Services.in your country. If you have Windows11 23H2 You can also try to uninstall the Touchpad HID compliant device in Device manager and just reboot.
