I just purchased this.

Internal camera stopped working after a day. The external USB camera works fine.

I am writing to report a persistent issue with the internal webcam on my Acer Swift Go 14 laptop. The system detects the camera, and the camera light turns on when activated, but it consistently shows a black screen with no video feed in any application, including the Windows Camera app and Zoom.

Troubleshooting steps I have already taken:

  • Reinstalled and rolled back camera drivers, including switching to the generic UVC driver
  • Tested in clean boot mode with all third-party startup services and applications disabled
  • Fully uninstalled applications known to interfere with webcam access (e.g., Filmora, Adobe Character Animator, Bitdefender, Zoom)
  • Verified privacy and security settings in Windows
  • Confirmed the camera is not blocked by Bitdefender antivirus or system policies

Have you moved the privacy block to the side so the camera can look out?

If the Acer Swift SFG14-63's internal camera is detected but not displaying video, it's likely a software or driver issue. Start by ensuring camera access is enabled in Windows settings and try restarting your computer. If the problem persists, update or reinstall the camera drivers, check for other applications using the camera, and consider using AcerSense for troubleshooting.

    Troubleshooting Steps:
    1. Check Camera Access Settings:
Go to Settings > Privacy > Camera.
Ensure the toggle for "Let apps use my camera" is turned on.
Verify that specific apps you want to use with the camera have permission.
    2. Restart Your Computer:
A simple restart can resolve temporary software glitches.
    3. Update or Reinstall Camera Drivers:
    Open Device Manager.
    Expand Cameras.
Right-click on your webcam and select Update driver.
If updating doesn't work, try uninstalling the driver and restarting your computer. Windows should automatically reinstall it.

    4. Check for Other Applications Using the Camera:
Close any other applications that might be using the camera, such as Skype, Zoom, or other video conferencing tools.
Some apps might be using the camera in the background, preventing other applications from accessing it.
    5. Use AcerSense:
If installed, launch the AcerSense application. It can help monitor camera and other system health issues.
    6. Scan for Malware:
Run a scan with your antivirus software to check for malware or system corruption that might be interfering with the camera.
    7. Check for Hardware Issues:
If the problem persists, there might be a hardware issue with the camera. Check for any visible damage to the camera.
If under warranty, consider contacting Acer support for further assistance.
