Hi, always post your full laptop model and what Windows version you have so we can help you better. Keep the adapter/charger plugged in 24/7 and make sure that the battery is fully charged to 100% before playing games.

Could be heat-related - try using a small fan to blow into the air intakes to see if that helps. Does it just act like it loses power or does it shut down in a normal manner? Heat-related does not always mean too much heat as it is very possible that a single resistor, capacitor, transistor, or etc. is just too sensitive to even normal levels of heat.

Remove ALL power and re-seat all cards, memory, and cables (both ends when possible) - actually remove and replace - do not just snug. Remove the dust bunnies and clean the vents. Check that the fans work (before and after opening the case). If a laptop about all you can do is re-seat the memory and clean the vents (still can try adding a small fan as a test).

Change battery as your laptop might need a new battery, as that could be a reason for a power fail, also and if you game allot with this laptop, you need to repaste clean the fans and cpu/gpu as the laptop could be overheating, you need to do this every 6 months if you game allot and the laptop operates at high temps. Use these paste products

    1. Conductonaut Extreme liquid metal for the CPU
    2. Kryonaut Extreme for the GPU
    3. TG Putty for the VRAM chips

These are the oem batteries for the AN517-57 model, so buy a new genuine Acer battery for your laptop.
