So i turned on "Beta: Use Unicode UTF-8 for worldwide language support" in the time and language setting on my acer nitro laptop. not knowing what it would do i did a restart on my laptop as it told me to. After the computer shuts down, the keyboard lights up but the screen remains black. Sometimes it turns on like normal but most of the time it doesn't and recently it refuses to turn on anymore. The keyboard lights up red, the fans spin, it gives a "beep" when i turn on the charger but not even the acer logo pops up. Did i accidentally corrupt my bios?

Perform a Hard Reset – Hold down the power button for 20 seconds to force a shutdown, then try turning it back on. Some Acer Nitro models have a battery reset pinhole on the bottom. If yours does, insert a paperclip and hold it for 4 seconds, then wait 5 minutes before reconnecting power and turning it on. If your laptop has been running hot, let it cool down before attempting to power it on.

If you manage to boot into Windows, update your graphics drivers to rule out software-related issues. Plug your laptop into an external display to check if the issue is with the screen or the system itself.

I hope this helps! If this was useful, please hit 'Yes' or 'Like'! Thanks! 😊

Do a hard reset of your laptop as this software must have corrupted either the EC, chipset or bios so doing a hard reset will reset the laptop without needing the OS. To do a proper hard reset do this:

Hard Reset - Remove eleven (11) screws from the base cover to the upper case of your Nitro laptop, starting from the upper side, pry to release the upper side latches, continue releasing the remaining latches. Then remove the lower case.

Press the power key for 15 seconds to release all power to the laptop and then disconnect the main battery from the mainboard, then take the main battery out. Then disconnect the RTC/BIOS battery and then short the bios batteries + & - pins at the mainboard plug to reset CMOS and then take all the ran out.

Leave the laptop like that for 30min so that the EC, Chipset and bios chips reset completely and then reconnect everything, if you have 2x ram modules, only connect 1x ram module and alternate the two ram modules and see if its not the ram that is faulty, as after doing all this, the laptop should turn on and boot properly with an image on the screen.
