My XV340CK faded and died today. Completely.

I started having issues with the monitor around end of January. The image at some point frose then was split with fine black horizontal lines and in a matter of seconds the screen faded to black. Tried different stuff--no luck. Backlight is on, the power led is blue, but no picture, not even the menu.

I googled the problem and found a solution of hard reset. Which is to disconnect all the cables and press power button for 60 sec. Then turn back again. This method worked for me.

Today I had the same problem of the image fading to black. Unfortunately the method I was so used to, as I was practicing it 2-3 times a week, this method appeared to become fruitless. Now I have a brick of a monitor.

What should I do? The warranty is over, bought it 2 years ago on Amazon. Drivers were always the same 566.36. The monitor is not showing any picture-neither with the dp or hdmi nor without any input cables. Nothing. Not even the menu.

So any way to fix this?

That is very unfortunate, as and if even after a hard reset your monitors image has stopped working, then it means that its either the screen or its an internal circuitry problem. as the only fix and thing that you can do is to take your Acer XV340CK monitor to a technician that specializes in fixing monitors and TVs as taking this monitor to Acer tech support, they will only change either the mainboard or screen with a new one, that is why Acer tech support charges so much.

But and if your monitor needs a new screen, then you might as well use this monitor as a land fill, as a new screen replacement is worth more than what the monitor is worth and it will be cheaper to buy a new monitor. We can’t get any service guides or technical information on your Acer XV340CK monitor, as Acer doesn’t have one that we can access and give you any advice. Good luck and hope this helps you out.

Can you see the splash screen when you first power it on? Does that look normal, or does it have artifacts like the lines?

If your Acer XV340CK monitor's image has faded, try these troubleshooting steps: First, power cycle the monitor, unplugging it for 30 minutes to allow it to cool and reset. You can also try adjusting brightness and contrast settings on the monitor's display. If the problem persists, check your graphics card drivers and ensure they are up-to-date. Finally, consider calibrating the monitor's color settings.
    Here's a more detailed breakdown:

    1. Power Cycle and Cooling:
Switch off the monitor and count slowly to 15, then power it back on.
If the issue remains, unplug the monitor and leave it unplugged for 30 minutes. This cooling period can help reset the monitor and potentially resolve overheating problems.
    2. Monitor Settings:
Adjust the brightness and contrast settings on the monitor's display menu to see if that improves the image.
    3. Graphics Card and Drivers:
Outdated or faulty graphics card drivers can cause color issues. Make sure your drivers are up-to-date.
Check for graphics card problems like overheating, driver conflicts, or hardware failures, which can distort colors.
    4. Color Calibration:
You can use your computer's built-in color calibration tools or third-party software to calibrate the monitor.
For example, you can search for "Calibrate monitor color" in the taskbar and follow the prompts.
    5. Other Considerations:
Ensure the monitor cable is properly connected and is not damaged.
If you're using an external monitor, try resetting it to factory settings.
Test with a different device or monitor to see if the issue is with the monitor itself.

I mean like in what way should I tell you so you understand. THE MONITOR IS NOT SHOWING ANYTHING. Neither any logos nor any menus. And obviously no image of my desktop. And again, obviously not a drivers issue - drivers were the same from last year.
Yeah I tried to let it cool. for like 30 hours. No changes
Regarding "colour calibration" and "other considerations" - sorry, but I feel like you are mocking me. Such an automated response to my post here feels like just a spit in my face…
