My XV340CK faded and died today. Completely.

I started having issues with the monitor around end of January. The image at some point frose then was split with fine black horizontal lines and in a matter of seconds the screen faded to black. Tried different stuff--no luck. Backlight is on, the power led is blue, but no picture, not even the menu.

I googled the problem and found a solution of hard reset. Which is to disconnect all the cables and press power button for 60 sec. Then turn back again. This method worked for me.

Today I had the same problem of the image fading to black. Unfortunately the method I was so used to, as I was practicing it 2-3 times a week, this method appeared to become fruitless. Now I have a brick of a monitor.

What should I do? The warranty is over, bought it 2 years ago on Amazon. Drivers were always the same 566.36. The monitor is not showing any picture-neither with the dp or hdmi nor without any input cables. Nothing. Not even the menu.

So any way to fix this?

That is very unfortunate, as and if even after a hard reset your monitors image has stopped working, then it means that its either the screen or its an internal circuitry problem. as the only fix and thing that you can do is to take your Acer XV340CK monitor to a technician that specializes in fixing monitors and TVs as taking this monitor to Acer tech support, they will only change either the mainboard or screen with a new one, that is why Acer tech support charges so much.

But and if your monitor needs a new screen, then you might as well use this monitor as a land fill, as a new screen replacement is worth more than what the monitor is worth and it will be cheaper to buy a new monitor. We can’t get any service guides or technical information on your Acer XV340CK monitor, as Acer doesn’t have one that we can access and give you any advice. Good luck and hope this helps you out.
