I have exactly the same issue with the exactly same laptop from costco. Yes it was $700 deal. It happened about twice per week. External monitor is not freeze but the internal one is freeze. Need to force reboot the PC.

you can just close your lid, wait 1 second, open lid and log back in and it works. at least with this method you don't lose the data you were working on.

i think the issue is the graphics card. cause if i'm listening to music or online discord chat with people i can still hear them and talk even though laptop frozen (happens with or without dual monitor).

i just updated bios to latest one. simple process.. download and double click the *.exe file.. hope that helps. personally,

Uninstall the Intel® Arc(TM) Graphics driver completely from Device Manager and install the oem listed Intel graphics that Acer has, which is driver dated 2025/05/02 and version 32.0.101.6127 and see if that version stops the freezing. Otherwise it could be the actual laptop that is faulty and you should send it to Acer Tech Support so that an Acer rectifies the freezing problem.

Acer laptops can freeze when the processor overheats or can't handle too much data. Viruses, adware, and malware infections can also cause the problem. The situation of screen freezing, keyboard freezing, and mouse freezing can be highly frustrating at times.
