I decided to add additional memory for my laptop (nitro 5 an515-46-R89v), and found a guide https://community.acer.com/en/kb/articles/13999-hard-drive-installation-instructions-for-the-acer-aspire-a5-series where it says thay my device (basically an515-46 series) does support 2.5 SDD drive.

I bought the drive (Kingston SSDNow A400 960GB 2.5" SATAIII 3D V-NAND), took the lid off, but I can't find the place to attach the 2.5 drive ( attaching the screenshot).

Could u please tell whether my laptop model does support the 2.5 format as it was mentioned in the guide above? If so, where I should attach the drive?

This model Nitro 5 AN515-46-R89V does not support a 2.5" SATA SSD. It lacks the necessary SATA connector and mounting hardware for a 2.5" drive, a design choice observed in certain variants of the AN515-46 series particularly in some regions.

Instead of a 2.5" drive, your laptop supports two M.2 NVMe SSD slots:
Primary Slot: Supports PCIe Gen4 x4 SSDs
Secondary Slot: Supports PCIe Gen3 x4 SSDs

Both slots accommodate standard 2280-sized M.2 drives and can be configured in RAID if desired. To expand your storage, consider installing an additional M.2 NVMe SSD in the secondary slot. Ensure compatibility with PCIe Gen3 x4 specifications. Brands like Crucial, Samsung, and WD offer reliable options.
