Hello,

I can't find a single battery unit to fit my nitro 5 model an515-54-55YZ, I have tried purchasing a brand new one from Walmart which is supposed to fit with my model, I have even tried entering my serial number of my specific model on Acerparts.ca and purchased a battery they said was compatible with my specific model of laptop only to find that it does not work either. Every time I unplug the charger, the laptop shuts down. I have tried everything, even a battery report that states that the system cannot recognise the battery even if it the battery icon on the far right states that it is charged 100%. None of the batteries I find online seem to fit with my model and I am very close to giving up. Any suggestions?

I had the exact same issue with my Nitro 5 (AN515-54-55YZ) a while back. After tons of research, I finally solved it by getting a battery with the AP18E7M model number. Double-check if your current battery (or the ones you tried) match the design shown here:

If the physical shape/connector aligns, I’m 99% sure the AP18E7M will work. Mine’s been running flawlessly—no sudden shutdowns, and the system actually recognizes the battery now. Just make sure to buy from a reputable seller (this site worked for me).

    Hi Nategreat,

Your Acer Nitro 5 (AN515-54-55YZ) battery issue may be due to compatibility or hardware faults. Many users have found success using the AP18E7M battery, ensuring it matches the physical shape and connector of the original. If replacing the battery doesn’t work, the issue could be with the EC chip, which controls battery functionality, and may need repair or reprogramming by a technician. Always purchase from a trusted seller to avoid faulty units.

    Regards

The ones that I've bought also said that they went to 3720mAh, I think I might just be confused on what specs to look for in a battery for my model, I'm still pretty new to this

Looking back at the receipt of the newest battery I've purchased from Acerparts.ca, it seems like the battery has the same specs as the one you've listed for compatibility, I still have no idea why it doesn't want to work with my laptop

The battery and its Acer part number that is shown above is the correct batteery for your Nitro AN515-54 laptop. You might have other main power rail issues or battery related issues that are causing the laptop to only work when the adapter is plugged into the laptop, and one of those issues is a failed EC chip that need analyzing and replacing and and programing, as that chip governs the battery functionality of your AN515-54 laptop, which you should take your laptop to a technician near you to pinpoint and fix, as when replacing to a new battery the laptop should fire up straight away unless the new battery is low on charge, which never happens. Good luck and hope this helps you out.

Yeah that's probably what it was, the laptop ended up shutting off for good and nobody that I've taken it to know what was wrong with it, probably something to do with the motherboard, so I bought another laptop.

Thanks again for all the answers!
