ACER Nitro ANV15-41 - Black screen issue!!

Hi all,

I need some help here because it almost seems a mystery to what happens with these Acer Nitro machines!

My laptop is in Warranty and is in the process of being repaired however I still would like to hear some feedback to what my issue could be related to and if anyone else has experienced it.

Randomly my laptop display just goes to a black screen and no matter what I've tried I cannot seem to get it stable enough to work. It boots initially fine and shows the Acer Nitro logo but then instantly goes black. I've reinstalled GPU/CPU drivers and even reinstalled Windows 11 from scratch. I don't think its hardware related as it never cuts out mid session its always from boot and it always does display the Acer logo.

I've heard a few stories about these Nitro machines and displaying a black screen and wondering if anyone can help with maybe what fixed there's. Also to note it does work when plugging an HDMI into a monitor… but it never recognises the internal display. I've done all the basic troubleshooting so I know its not something super simple.

Thanks everyone

This is a hardware problem that is related either to the EC or Chipset chips as they are faulty and shortening out, it could also be an eDP faulty cable that cause a black screen. Acer Tech support should check all these aspects of your ANV51-41 laptop and change the mainboard and the eDP cable, as this should not be happening to a new laptop. Let us know what the solution was.

it’s apparently been repaired and they told me it’s a faulty EDP Cable, I’m yet to receive and test it but it’s arriving tomorrow so hopefully it’s resolved. What I found weird is that I always used to see the Acer logo before the screen would turn black which is what made me think it wasn’t hardware related… but maybe not

Yes, the eDP cable can also be the cause due to this cable being routed from the mobo plug to the LCD screen plug and due and when you open and close the laptop this cable can get damaged and its power and data cables get damaged and short out momentarily and when the laptop requires a full image the cable can't deliver the power or data required by the laptop scree, that is why when the Acer logo was showing but when a more detailed image was required, the damaged eDP cable couldn't sustain that image.

ANV15-41 eDP LCD cables that Acer would have changed
