Hello

i have a acer predator Po3-640 desktop with an i7-12700f cpu and a 3060ti gpu and is roughly 3-4 years old. I still have no problems with the PC but would like to future proof it and i am wondering can i buy a 4070super or 4070ti super and fit it without any problems with bottlenecks etc.

I understand i may need to upgrade PSU

Any helps appreciated

You may need to upgrade your PSU as well. The lowest PSU for the NVidia RTX4070 GPUs no matter if its got 2 or 3 fans for cooling you need a PSU of a min 650W capacity, you can't run it with the 500W PSU, you need to upgrade the oem PSU to what I would suggest the best and a min output of a 850W PSU that will give you plenty of power to run all additional peripherals for your desktop.

Please check this article : Upgrading a PO3-630 GPU

I hope this helps! If this was useful, please hit 'Yes' or 'Like'! Thanks! 😊

Also be aware the PO3-640 uses an Acer specific ATX12VO power supply, and the largest one Acer offers for those models is the 500W version you already have. It is possible to convert an appropriately sized typical ATX PSU to act as a 12VO, but you will have to do custom cabling to get that functioning.
