I have an old Acer 2332hl monitor and it appears the power adapter has gone bad. At least the LED on it does NOT light anymore. I looked around on Amazon for a replacement but there are 5 pages of them. I noticed there are 3 different types of connectors (plugs) for the monitor end.

Also I couldn't find any with my correct model number (of the Monitor). I saw some for H232hl, 231hl, and 230hl, but none for the 2332hl. Probably because this monitor is so old.

Can anyone point me in the right direction here please? Any assistance would be most appreciated.

BTW here is a photo of the tag on the adapter.

The model that you gave the Acer 2332HL monitor is not listed, are you sure that is the correct model number and its not the Acer S232Hl?

What I suggest that you do is to first measure the diameter and length of the barrel pug and then search for the model ADP-40PH BB adapter with the barrel plug end dimensions, as the adapter that you want is a 40W 19V 2,1A type adapter. Good luck.

The key is the 19V@2.1A power and the connector size. Once you have those matched you should be good to go. The monitor model you provided isn't a good number, maybe the T232HI, which is a touchscreen monitor? Anyway, the connector is likely a 5.5mm barrel…

Thank you both so much, I really appreciate the help. And you were both right the Model number I gave you was wrong. I am 70 and my eyesight is not so good anymore. I used a Magnifying glass on the label and sure enough it is a 232HL. Sorry for the mistake, but again thanks for your help.

Sheesh, this is so confusing. All I want is a new power adapter, I really didn't think it would be this hard. So I used the info from StephenGen above and plugged it into Amazon.

ADP-40PH BB 40W 19V 2,1A and came up with 6 pages of adapters. So then it comes down to the barrel connector, and making sure that matches. I thought there were 3 different kinds, but no, there are 6. I found a diagram from one of the adapters that actually described the differences (see below). Here are some pictures to illustrate:

    This is mine:

This shows the dimensions of the barrel connector:

And this is the diagram I found showing the different kinds of connectors and their dimensions:

Now if I had to guess, and I am guessing here, it looks like mine measures 4.0 X 2 mm. That's using a ruler since I don't have a micrometer. And judging by the diagram above it looks like mine is comparable to the one on the left of the diagram above. Or close at least, so hard to tell with a ruler. And also I am thinking the the plastic shroud around the inside diameter throws off the measurement. Shrug, I am just not sure.

Anyways after further searching on Amazon I found this one:

However there are a few discrepancies in the description. It says right in there that it is for a Acer S232HL monitor, so that is reassuring.

    1. It says it is a 65w power supply. I was looking for a 40W.
    2. It says it is rated at 3.42A. Mine says 2.1A. Also it says this in the description "Compatible with 19Volt 1.5A 1.75A 2A 2A 2.5A 2.7A 3.16A 3.42A" So is that a "one size fits all" type thing?
    3. The barrel connector looks right, but it does NOT give the dimensions of the connector at all. (Sigh)

Will this one work for this monitor? I mean we are not talking about a lot of money here and I can return it if it is not the right connector, but I would rather get the right one the first time, ya know what I mean?

Again, any assistance is greatly appreciated.
