Hi, that is normal behavior as the system will throttle the power to the GPU and CPU when on battery only, you therefore should leave the power adapter or USB-C charger connected and the battery fuly charged to 100%.

    Possible Causes and Solutions

    1. Power Management Settings:
      • When running on battery, laptops often switch to a power-saving mode that limits CPU performance. Check your power settings:
        • Go to Settings > System > Power & battery.
        • Adjust the power mode to Best performance when on battery, if available.
    2. Windows 11 23H2 Update Issues:
      • Some users have reported performance drops after installing the 23H2 update, including CPU throttling and laggy applications. You might consider rolling back the update or wait for next update.

More importantly, why are you using the laptop on battery power? It is not recommended for gaming laptops, as using the laptop on battery can significantly shorten its lifespan. Battery calibration should be performed once every 4 to 6 months to keep the battery healthy and performing at its best. When the laptop reaches 100% charge, it automatically switches to AC power and does not overcharge. The battery is meant for emergencies, such as when you’re traveling or using the laptop in a garden. I have never unplugged my Nitro 5 at home in the four years I’ve had it, and I calibrate the battery once every 6 months (Only to do 1 time because doing more can also damage battery), although I sometimes forget to do calibrate. my laptop battery remains healthy.

    Hi Arnob123,

Check Power Settings: Ensure the power plan is set to High Performance and processor state is set to 100%.
Check Battery Health: Use tools like BatteryInfoView to assess battery health and contact support if needed.
Monitor Background Processes: Use Task Manager to identify and manage high-resource applications and startup programs.
Update or Reinstall Graphics Drivers: Update drivers from Device Manager or the manufacturer’s website; reinstall if necessary.
Check for Overheating: Use temperature monitoring tools and ensure cooling vents are clear.
Test in Safe Mode: Boot into Safe Mode to determine if third-party software is causing the issue.
Check Event Viewer: Look for errors or warnings in Event Viewer that coincide with the lag.
Run System Diagnostics: Use Acer’s built-in diagnostics tool to check for hardware issues.
Consider a Factory Reset: Backup data and reset your PC if all else fails.

    ( SOLUTION )
I have the same problem. I found out it is because the laptop has 2 GPU (Graphics Processing Unit)
The laptop switches between the gpu's, but like many experiences it does not do a good job.
You have to disable on of them. i have done it through the predator sense app. Laptop work perfectly now.

    1. U fix it by going on predator sense
    2. personal options
    3. At the top it says GPU at drift. Toggle to ( ONLY NVIDIA GPU )
