    >touchpad didn't work even BEFORE installing this Windows 11, i.e. since I installed the new motherboard. > >

Please show a screenshot of Device Manager in Win10 or Win8x that is actually supported by Acer on your new mainboard BEFORE installing Win11. Also please show the same WinVer screenshot for Win10 or Win8x. Furthermore, how did you purchase or transfer a license from the old mainboard needed to activate windows for the new unregistered mainboard?

I will not install Win 8 or 10. The touchpad worked well with Win 11 before. Actually, the touchpad had issues with Win 10, which was mentioned in multiple sites and forums, we had to Fn+F7 frequently to make it work. No such an issue with the modified Win 11.

I think about installing Win 11 Enterprise LTSC (with all the bloatware removed) and see what will happen. I am pretty sure it will work great on my laptop, not sure about the touchpad.

Sorry, Device Manager output under a compatible Windows version is needed. Neither your old nor new mainboards are officially compatible with any of the standard Win11 version releases. Accordingly, you're trying to install undocumented customizations. This makes it nearly impossible on these forums to help you determine if the issue is a hardware, software or firmware issue. Good luck with trying the long term version.

What will the Device Manager in Win10 or Win8x help you?

Win10 or Win8x Device Manager will either automatically show —-

    (1) a yellow warning symbol if the touchpad is detected but its software drivers are faulty or corrupt

    —- or —

    (2) no touchpad in Mice or HID folders or a red warning symbol which suggests a hardware, firmware or cable connector failure

    —- or —-

    (3) touchpad detected and working properly with no red or yellow warning symbols under a compatible Win10 or Win8x version.

Just to remind you my older posts here about the BIOS. Time ago after I changed the touchpad settings from Basic to Advanced, then the touchpad stopped working (there was even a note about that in the BIOS). Before I set it back to Basic, all the three (1), (2) and (3) from your previous post showed no any indication or warning of the missing not-working touchpad.

So now the logic goes back to the new BIOS which is missing a touchpad options. Don't know if I will get success with that if I install the latest V3-112P's BIOS from the Acer official site.

This thread is 9 pages long. Which older post are you referring to with the new mainboard?

    I see no such option.

That's what I wrote - the new BIOS doesn't have this option visible. But the previous one had it.

And that's why I wonder if I can install the official V3-112P BIOS over the InsydeH20 Rev.5 BIOS. Who knows, maybe it will display the touchpad options…

This is v1.03 that was likely factory installed on the new mainboard when your acquired it. What previous one version number are your referring to?

Yes, 1.03, while the latest official version is 1.17. But I don't think InsydeH20 is an Acer official bios, right? So I don"t know if it can be updated with latest official.

If v1.03 doesn't have it, then why did you write the previous one had it? The new mainboard came to you with v1.03 installed from the factory. So there is no previous one for this particular new mainboard. If it's a hidden option in v1.03, then pressing Ctrl+S should reveal it. If not, the option isn't available.

So the V3-112P motherboard supported two different touchpads, an Elantech and a Synaptics. Which one is installed in your system? The Synaptics version had firmware updates… Are those installed if you have the Synaptics touchpad?

I tried the drivers for both elantech and synaptics.

The new mainboard is from aliexpress.

Ctrl+S doesn't work on the new mainboard's BIOS. Hidden options are available when pressing Fn+Tab 3 times, but touchpad options are still not shown.

Touchpad options (Basic / Advanced) shown on the original BIOS and the previous mainboard's BIOS.

By the way, how can I check if the touchpad is by Elantech or Synaptics? With Aida64 for example?

Please. We're discussing the new V3 mainboard with the factory v1.03 BIOS. NOT the old board. So your previous comment —-

"Time ago after I changed the touchpad settings from Basic to Advanced, then the touchpad stopped working (there was even a note about that in the BIOS). Before I set it back to Basic, all the three (1), (2) and (3) from your previous post showed no any indication or warning of the missing not-working touchpad."

—-was in fact referring to the old board. NOT the new V3 board. We still need to see Device Manager output with a Windows version (Win10 or Win8x) that's officially compatible with the new V3 mainboard. Otherwise, if the touchpad doesn't respond to the FN+F7 toggle key combination, then we can't make a good decision on (1), (2) or (3).
