Greetings all,

Part #CBG516-1H-53TY

MoModel "516GE

N22Q19"

Tonight In Files app, I copied a 5.4GiB file with "3 seconds remaining" th3 Chromebook froze and hanged.

The keyboard doesn't respond. Power button, nope. The lights are on, but nobody's home?

I searched the chassis for a recessed reset button. Does it exist?

How.to.power down a Chromebook without using Power button?

Hi, press Shift+Escape to open Chromes' Task Manager, click on the hanging app and click on End Process button. If no response then shut down your Chromebook by clicking the system tray in the bottom-right corner of your display and then clicking the power button.

Greeitings, Puraw! How amazing that you answered so promptly and cogently!

Unfortunately, I'll kindly refer y'all back to my OP, where I wrote "The keyboard doesn't respond. Power button, nope. The lights are on, but nobody's home?"

Both the keyboard and the mouse stopped responding entirely. If I could've shut down the power normally, then I would've done it with the keyboard. But the entire system was wedged, frozen, hung.

My question was: how to power down without keyboard or mouse? Where is the recessed reset/restart button? You know, the kind you press with a bent paperclip?

    Cheers, Puraw!

Hi, then the only way is to press the power button for 3 seconds to abort the system.

IIt is most peculiar, because my 516GE's power button is an integral part of the keyboard keys (upper right,) - is there a unique layout for y'all?
