Aspire C27-962. Bluetooth Device showing up upon start and disappearing.

I have the Aspire C27-962. My Bluetooth has been working without any issues and then recently I am receiving the dreaded Code 45 error. I have tried everything short of smashing the computer with a hammer, and still no luck.

When I start the computer it shows the Bluetooth as there, but within a minute, it disappears from the quick menu as well as becomes hidden in the device manager. After uninstalling the drivers, reinstalling the drivers, multiple cold starts, and even downloading an older driver, with no luck, the Bluetooth is not working. I have had a similar issue with the installed wifi device.

    Which OS are you running? What driver version is installed for Bluetooth and Wireless? If the issue is affecting both Bluetooth and WiFi then you might be running into a problem with the WLAN card, but let's verify the drivers first.

    There is a way to toggle Bluetooth ON/OFF by doing this; press the F3 key to reengage the Bluetooth, if you did this and it didn't reengage the BT, then do this:

    If you used the DV >Show hidden devices and the BT driver is there then do this:

    Right click on the BT driver (which should be either an Intel, Atheros or MTK wireless Bluetooth) after that click on Properties>Driver>Update Driver>Browse my computer for drivers>Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer, then at Compatible drivers choose the last driver version that is listed there and reinstall that driver!

    If you don't have any drivers after doing the above and after “DV >Show hidden devices” then look in Control Panel > Uninstall a program if the Bluetooth program is there, if its there uninstall it, if its not there, then go to the Acer Drivers & Manuals and insert your Aspire laptop model (it should be something like A515-xx for an Aspire 5 model) and get the latest Win-11 BT driver from there) and install it, as doing all this will reinstate your BT driver and your BT will work.

    Note: If you see in the Acer Drivers and Manuals that your BT driver is an Intel BT then the easiest way to install the latest Intel BT drivers and all Intel drivers for your Aspire is to download the Intel® Driver & Support Assistant as after you install this official Intel scan software it will tell you and install all the latest Intel drivers compatible with your laptop that need updating which include the Bluetooth drive, graphics driver and other Intel components on your laptop.

    I am running W11, The BT is intel, and the driver version is 22.240.0.2, It is not the newest because I was reading that walking back the driver to that version has been shown to help, it has not. The wireless is also intel AC-9462, and that driver number is 23.80.1.3.

    One other odd thing is when I go to enable "BT user support service 59f40" as automatic and not manual, I get this error message "the parameter is incorrect". Not sure if that helps, but I literally have tried everything I know how to do and read/watched far to many videos.

    F3, does not work when pressed (I believe it is Fn/F3 to do that). I have done the update drivers as you have described, when I do through and get to the let me pick drivers, I only have one option. What is odd, and maybe it is because I just do not know that it is normal, but there are two different BT, "Bluetooth Device (RFCOMM Protocol TDI)" and "Intel ® Wireless Bluetooth ®", under BT in the device manager.

    When I use the Intel Driver Support, it does not show anything "Intel Bluetooth" as far as drivers for my computer, which is odd because in the device manager, it is there. After doing everything you said, in the DM it still is hidden, and I cannot turn it on and activate it.

    Also, in the DM, the Bluetooth Device (Personal Area Network) is faded out, even after updating the driver.

    So, it is now working. I think since the the Wifi was not working, and I disabled the wifi, that effected the BT. After getting an update yesterday for the LAN card, the wifi started working and so did the BT. Does that sound about right? I thought they were 2 different devices.

    Yes, the WLAN card handles both WiFi and Bluetooth. Disabling the card disables both, though I expect just disabling Bluetooth or WiFi should only disable that function, so you could set it up with only one enabled. Just stay away from disabling the whole card…

    You should always use the oem Acer first installed Wi-Fi/BT drivers for the Intel card from the Acer support page e.g. your C24-962 AIO driver for the WLAN is Intel version 21.40.1.4 and for the BT its version 21.30.0.5 as these drivers will work always as these are the drivers that your AIO was released with from Acer.

    Just as an example, I've got a problem with my 3 years old Nitro laptop and its BT driver, as the BT only works with the oem Acer initial supplied BT driver from 2021 the Intel v22.40,0.2 and no Intel BT updated driver version will work with my Intel Killer AX1650i Wi-Fi/BT card, which is strange but the new and updated Intel Wi-Fi drivers all work perfectly with this card. So there are different anomalies with these cards both way and with the Wi-Fi or the BT, so be aware of all this.

    Note: The LAN in your C27-962 AIO is a "Realtek RTL8105E-VL-CG/ 8111F" type LAN that supports 10/100/1000M Fast Ethernet and has nothing to do with the Intel Wi-Fi/BT card as the LAN is not an Intel device and/or uses an Intel driver. Good luck.
