New Spin 5 (SP513-54N) issue after fixing with a new battery, now the unit won't turn off.

I had an issue where my SP513-54N would not turn on, after putting in a new battery and formatting a SSD drive and starting over, I though the issue was fixed.

The unit now refuses to turn off. It will start with no issues. But as I soon as I turn off the unit, the unit restarts and stays on. The new battery will be wasted if this continues.

I feel with the previous issue of no starts, this has to do with the power module itself?

I believe it is soldered to the motherboard, wondering if anyone has experienced this?

I have a regular blue light for power and orange for battery when plugged in. No flickers as before

Hi, I believe you have a BIOS issue, check that you have version 1.10 from 2021/04/06 and if so, reset BIOS with F9 in BIOS and save changes on exit BIOS. If you haven't upgraded to Windows11 23H2 yet do that now and update with KB5044380 22 October2024, Battery use fixed: A device uses too much battery power while the device is in Modern Standby.

If your laptop after putting in a new battery, you're unable to shut it down properly, then you can try the following steps to resolve the issue:-

Ok I went into the Bios setting and did f9 which said load defaults and it was version 1.10 and did restore defaults and saved…updated to Windows11 23H2 as well . And turned it off. And that is when the orange light started to flicker on the power and it would not turn back on. The power light kept flickering on every 10 secs…So i left it like that this morning and I just smacked the area were the power button is and it turned back on and hence writing to you from the crazy acer laptop.

I think I am just going to get a new laptop as the it is the power module that is faulty
