upgrade CPU on a predator G3 - 710 when put Motherboard it wont turn on, need to update BIOS?

hi I have tried and upgrade my CPU with an i5 9400f but when I put it in Motherboard it won't turn on maybe I need to update Bois right now is bois R01 - A1 or what should I do?

    Hi, upgrading the CPU on your Acer Predator G3-710 to an Intel Core i5-9400F isn’t possible due to chipset compatibility issues. The G3-710 uses a B150 chipset, which supports up to 7th generation Intel CPUs, such as the i7-7700K12. The i5-9400F is a 9th generation CPU, which requires a different chipset.

    Just some additional information for you, if your G3-710 desktop has an i5-7600K cpu then you can upgrade the cpu to the higher and more powerful i7-7700K cpu Intel socket 1151 that Acer fitted to this desktops Intel B150 chipset mobo, and you can also upgrade the gpu to either an GTX1650Ti or an RTX2060 as this desktop has an ATX mobo plug with a 24pin PSU that can be upgraded easily with today's modular PSU of a higher wattage to accommodate a better gpu and improve performance, as its not only the cpu that will increase performance of your laptop.

    Also it's worth saying there will be very little change in performance between the two CPUs… We don't typically recommend a CPU change until all other avenues have been dealt with. SSD upgrade first, memory upgrade second, GPU upgrade third and CPU upgrade about sixteenth.

    hello again I have updated ssd and ram and gpu so all I need is cpu bought an i7-7700 but when I put it in there are no scary images and no light in the keyboard, have tried and updated bios I get an error or I don't understand it

    You must be flashing the bios wrongly (follow the WIN PDF in the bios Appendix folder) as you should be flashing the bios with the last G3-710 desktops bios version R02-B2 not the version RO2-A2. Try that and see if the last bios version flashes as it should do 100%, as the "SOPHIAB MB_B150_USB3.0_WIN10_HDMI_DP" mobo is compatible with these cpu's:

    I have update bios to R02-B2 but stille no imageon the sceen

    Then either the i7-7700 cpu that you bought is faulty or the mainboard is faulty as the above G3-710 desktop B150 chipset mobo works with all the above cpu;s that the Acer G3-710 desktop has and the bios versions provided by Acer. Have a technician check the mobo out if the cpu is not faulty. Good luck.

    There are two different base models for your machine. The early AG3-710 and the later G3-710. The first uses a 6th gen chipset and comes with either an i5-6400 or an i7-6700. The later has a 7th gen chipset and came with either an i5-7400 or an i7-7700. You can't put the 7th gen CPUs into the 6th gen motherboard. I suspect that is what is going on here…

    Yes, though be aware that a CPU change will give you very little in terms of overall system performance. It sounds like you have mostly done everything that gives a bigger boost though, and a CPU will be a lot less expensive than a new machine, which is where you would see real improvement.
