I have been experiencing issues with the bluetooh connection when I use it to connect to my Google Nest speaker. It always drops out so I have to reconnect it again by turning it off and back on. Today it happened again so I turned it off however the bluetooth toggle button disappeared right after I turned it off. It is completely gone.

When I went to device manager, the bluetooth has completely gone.

I then realise it is hidden for some reason, but when I unhide it, all bluetooth drive are all "disappeared" as if they were never installed.

I then read someone reported exactly same issue, apparently it is caused by some BIOS update that caused one of the USB device drive not working.

The post suggested that to fix the issue, I need to reset my BIOS back to default, so my question is how to open BIOS for my computer?

Your help is much appreciated.

So, first question (as almost always) is what computer do you have? There have been a bunch of different Aspire all in ones over the years, and each has different hardware. Often the designs have a daughter card that handles WiFi and Bluetooth, but sometimes those functions are designed directly into the motherboard. What you are seeing is data on the internal USB port connected to that card or module getting corrupted. Sometimes a repair is a simple as removing the saved drivers and rebooting to force a reinstall, sometimes it's as bad as failed hardware…

Just some further advice, first uninstall the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth drivers’ completely and reinstall the latest drivers for your Wi-Fi/BT card again, as the BT driver that you have in the AIO computer is corrupted and its best to reinstall both Wi-Fi and BT drivers with the latest version available for your AIO computer.

In future you can refresh both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth drivers if they disconnect by doing the below:

Wi-Fi driver (it’s the same for the Bluetooth)

Go to > Device Manager > Network adapters > select the name of whichever Wi-Fi Card your laptop has > right click the card Properties > Driver > Update Driver > Browse my computer for drivers > Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer > and then pick the latest Wi-Fi driver that is in that list, and reinstall that driver, as afterwards your Wi-Fi should work,

Hi Bill, thanks for your suggestion. First my computer is Aspire C27-1655 All-in-One Computer. This is the second time the EXACT same issue happens and it is very annoying. I managed to reset my BIOS back to the manfacturer setting but the problem still exists. Basically the USB Device Descriptor Request Failed error is still there and it has not gone away after the factory reset, thinking the reset should just wipe everything out and restore it back to how it originally came with.

Hi Steven. Thank you for your suggestion. It is much appreciated.

Just to clarify, when you said to uninstall the Wi-Fi and bluetooth drivers, do you mean 2 things or one thing? The reason I ask because I found there is a Network adapter that says bluetooth (see below)

Or do you mean I have uninstall the bluetooth device adapter AS WELL AS the Wifi network adapter (see below)

If so, what does it do in rectifying the bluetooth issue as well as the unknown USB device error? As well as that, do you know what really caused this error?

    Your help is much appreciated.

OK, the WLAN adapter card in your system is likely an Intel 9462NGW. There should be an Intel Bluetooth device listed under Bluetooth in Device Manager. The picture you show in that last message, however, is an AX211 card instead. The AX211 shouldn't work in a C27-1655, according to the service guide. They use different protocols on the M.2 bus. I'm guessing the SG isn't correct in this instance, since your machine is too new to be using the old WLAN card. What is actually installed? 9462NGW, AX201, AX211, AX411? Then just to make it even more confusing, when I go to Acer's support site for drivers they also mention Mediatek and Atheros as options for the drivers.

If you have the AX211, which is what is showing up in that image, then you want to download both the wireless and Bluetooth drivers for the Intel card. They are both 21.10.x.x. Install them to see if that works. You could easily get errors saying a newer version is already installed. If that's the case just do as Steven suggests and uninstall the drivers from Device Manager, then reinstall from the Acer downloads. If that gets you back running normally, and you are on the Intel card, then use Intel's Driver and Support Assistant to upgrade the Acer drivers to the current Intel drivers (23.60.x.x IIRC). Intel does updates a lot more often than Acer does…
