Window Defender User interface or Dashboard? In Win11, can't bring up the Defender UI?

New to Win11 here, and I can't bring up the Defender UI? (I have deleted McAfee and do not have a 365 account) Is there a way to get the dashboard to show up so that I can run scans on my schedule? Thanks in advance.

    Did you uninstall the McAfee AV program with the proprietary McAfee uninstaller to be downloaded from McAfee's site? If not, it will still be running at the background in the Windows registry. To automatically scan with MS Defender, you have to enable Maintenance (see picture):

    If you still don't see the blue Windows Security shield icon at the right side of Taskbar, enable that icon in Taskbar settings:

    If still no Defender Dashboard you have to reset Windows Security as McAfee disabled it:
    Press the Win + Q keys and type powershell.
    Right click on PowerShell and run it as administrator.
    Copy and paste the code below.
    Get-AppxPackage Microsoft.SecHealthUI -AllUsers | Reset-AppxPackage

    Hit the Windows key and type Defender. That should be a quick way to get Windows Security open. Click then on the antivirus section and you should see everything you need there. No need to do anything special…

    I used both uninstallers, (App and Advisor). Defender is scanning like normal, (ie I get notified that nothing was detected…) I'm a little gun shy to do the Get-AppxPackage Microsoft.SecHealthUI -AllUsers | Reset-AppxPackage

    Still unable to get to the dashboard like it was on WIN 10? (run scans quick/full/offline etc…

    The easiest way is to go to search and type in Security as Windows Security comes up like in the cation below and then go to Virus & threat protection as then you can do a scan..

    If you don't get Defender's Dashboard this means McAfee is still "lurking" in Windows registry blocking Windows Defender Dashboard, the only way is editing the registry deleting all the McAfee references (not recommended) or downloading the MCPR tool from the McAfee website. Another possibility is that there is an active group policy blocking Dashboard set by whoever installed your Windows OS. Ignore talk that Windows Uninstaller will remove everything, it does not. When you click on the Windows security shield on taskbar You should see this when Windows Security is running OK and when you click on Device security you should get the second screen all with green check marks.

    Yeah, I got nothing like that… I'm going to get the MCPR tool and try again.

    Ran the MCPR tool and restarted PC, (still not able to display the Defender User Interface dashboard?) Sorry I didn't reply earlier, (notifications were all in spam folder)

    So when you go to the security settings you don't see the virus & threat protection section at all, or you see a different UI when you select that?

    I get the no actions needed screen, but not the screen that allows you to run scans…

    Try resizing the window larger, sometimes they hide sections when the window is too small.

    I tried that already, I can only guess that my issue is normal for the version that ACER installed, (McAfee trial/Office 365 trial) I guess I'm gonna have to live with it, Thanks…

    The trials should have nothing to do with the way Windows works, and Defender is part of Windows. You should see the same window as I show…

    I agree, and perhaps I will be updated someday? The only other thing that I can think of is that i have a version that for some reason this was left out?

    It appears my PC was set up with group policies through an ACER IT ADMIN?

    Did you purchase your computer through a retail outlet, or was it provided by a company? Is it running Windows Home or Windows Pro? Acer doesn't do anything to set security options like that unless it's a version specific to a corporate customer.
