Aspire TC-1750-UR12 Horrible graphics UHD 730

I recently purchased an Aspire TC-1750-UR12 Desktop | 12th Gen Intel Core i5-12400 with 16GB 3200MHz DDR4 | 512GB NVMe M.2 SSD  Intel UHD 730 graphics. To say that I am disappoionted is a vast understatement! Sansui ES-24F1 1080p FHD monitor 60/75 Hz . The graphics are abysmal! Pictures are not sharp at all, lacking fine detail and even have shadow lines around figures in pic. The same goes for videos. The only thing in clear focus is the main subject in the frame. I contacted Support Chat and asked about the Pcie slot on motherboard and asked for advice on adding a video card and was told they don't do any recommendations. I asked even just for a general "type" of card and was told to make sure it was compatible with the i5-12400 CPU, the he abruptly ended that chat session.

Turns out, I didn't scroll down far enough on the Amazon page (where I bought PC) as there was a review of it and shows that the power supply in the Aspire 1750 isn't adequate for an add on video card. I have never been more disappointed in a PC in my life. My wife's old Aspire x1930 had far better graphics than this one and it had a Pentium 5, 4Gb ram with Intel HD.

Any suggestions?

The TC-1750-UR12 is not a high end desktop its just a low end general usage desktop and its price of USD $699.00 reflects the components that Acer uses for a budget desktop. You also need to have this desktops software up to date like windows update, install the Intel® Driver & Support Assistant scan software so that all Intel drivers are up to date and make sure that you run this desktops last bios update the Version: R01-B0 that “Enhance system stability” to run Win-11 properley.

Due to this desktops 300W PSU that is an Acer proprietary 300W ATX_12V - Auxiliary 8-pin power connector with an additional ATX_POWER 6-pin ATX power connector, you are restricted to allot of the current better high end GPUs but you can still upgrade to an acceptable budget performing GPUs like the Nvidia GTX1650, GTX 980 or the GTX 1050 Ti into this desktops PCIe x16 slot (see caption below) that will give you far superior graphics then its CPU integrated graphics of the UHD 730 graphics.

Also and if you upgrade its RAM to the max 32GB at 2x 16GB DDR4-3200MHz (DDR4-3200 • CL=22 • NON-ECC • UDIMM • 288-pin • 1.2V • 2Rx8/1Rx8 • PC4-25600) and also add a quick and a reasonably priced 1TB PCIe 4x4 all these upgrade that will cost max USD $350.00 will improve this desktops graphics and overall performance by at least 200% which is still good value for a USD $1049.00 desktop

Are you connected via HDMI cable ?

What display resolution is set ?

    Is your monitor OK ?

    Uninstall your driver and re-install.

If dtill bad than do a reset of your computer.

Type "reset" in the search box, keep your data if you chose.

I really think that the graphoc should be OK for normal useage..just not hi-speed games etc.

YouTube has videos on the TC-175-UR12 and the UHD730 too .

I have a cheap TC-895-UA92. My graphics are fine for everyday use.

You could also have a bad HDMI Cable.

Since it is new, why not send it to Acer to repair if you've trried a different monitor, cable and check the display setting plus do all updates and a reset. If still bad, return for repair would be my route. If you want for gaming then buy a gaming computer and sell this one.

The TC-1750 comes with a 500W supply, which is more than enough for a lot of GPU cards, here are the part numbers for several of the 500W versions:

As you can see they buy from a number of different vendors. For a 500W supply you could put something like a 3070 in since that is what ships on several of Acer's gaming system that use the 500W ATX12VO supplies. Your problem though is not likely the GPU, it's more likely either your Windows settings or the monitor itself. You should have a sharp, clear image at 1080P.

I meant to say since it was recently purchased, it should be under warranty,.

As Mr. Billsey stated, I too beleive that your Windows settings or the monitor is bad/wrong.

My Display Resolution on my "Cheap" TC-895-UA92" is set to "1920x 1080"

You've got a good computer in my opinion. Just get it set right.

I really appreciate the feedback from you guys.

I didn't buy this for gaming; just ordinary everyday basic tasks, but still expect to see crisp, clear images.
The Power Supply is definitely 300 watt as it is LITEON PA-2301-3. Apparently one of the cheapest supplies available.I've tried 3 different monitors, all 1920x1080. 2 @60Hz, one @ 60/75Hz. No difference. One of the monitors is 10 yrs. old and no difference between it and 2 new ones. HDMI cable is new. Have actually reset PC twice. Once a system restore after windows updated a bluetooth driver that made bluetooth inoperable and did a complete factory reset when screen went white then black while scrolling tik tok videos on internet. I had normal screen on desktop, could still operate, but had to close browser nd restart. So driver's been reinstalled and up to date. Thinking about returning it, but I bought it from Amazon, so I'm gonna lose money that way.

I appreciate the pic of motherboard. The 6 pin connector is in use and the 8 pin connector has 4 pins in use. I've done some checking on the cards you mentioned, and the GTX980 requires a 500 W PSU. Looks like the GTX 1650 needs 350-400 W. That leaves the GTX 1050 Ti if I can find one that runs off the pcie slot or that has a 4 pin connector. Found this one at walmart but it's got a 6 pin connector and I've only got 4 available.

I may just have to bite it and get rid of this thing.

The INTEL ARC 380 can provide slightly inferior performance compared to the GTX 1650, but it doesn't require any additional hardware upgrades.

If you need a higher-end graphics card, you'll definitely need to replace the power supply unit. However, it's difficult to find power supply units in TFX form factor, and some of them might be counterfeit.

For example, the FSP500-20TGBAB claims to deliver 500W of power, but it's highly questionable.
