4GB RAM is soldered on the motherboard and you can upgrade the memory with another 4GB RAM module (total 8GB max. RAM) but avoid any modules with XMP profile like Corsair Vengeance. Buy DDR4 PC4-25600 3200MHz Non-ECC SODIMM modules like this: https://www.kingston.com/en/memory/search/model/103469/acer-aspire-1-a115-32-xxx Ignore the 16GB total RAM that should be 8GB. Some Acer documents refer to 32GB of maximum RAM and others say 16GB.

so i ordered this same exact ram stick and my screen still stays black when turned on it won't do anything it'll only recognize a certain ram stick its 3200mhz as well this laptop won't even accept an 8gb ram stick or any other ram stick beside Hynix 3200mhz pc4 one if its something different it won't do anything i don't know if there's something wrong with it or what i have ordered 4 different ram sticks and none of them worked. @puraw

This is the resource I used: https://www.memorystock.com/%5C/memory/AcerAspire1A11532C96U.html If this is a non-standard model without a soldered RAM module and comes with only 1 removable slot it may support 4GB RAM maximum. Will the laptop boot if you take the original 4GB RAM module out (slot empty)?

This is the Acer listed Aspire 1 A115-32 model compatible ram from its service guide. Only use the modules listed below as using any other ram modules will not work in this laptop. Good luck and hope this helps you out.
