    Hi,

You may be able to use a 2TB M.2 SSD in this model because another user has installed a 2TB drive in this model, could you please post the picture of bottom section of Disk Management and explain what happens when you install the M.2 SSD drive, where is your operating system currently installed? and other relevant information. Where are you trying to fit the new SSD? You only have the one SSD slot, #8 in the diagram:

Slot #18 is only for a WiFi/Bluetooth card.

Hey guys, thanks for getting back so quickly. So i dont have a whole lot of knowledge about how to install the ssd. I brought it to a specialist store. The guy told me the ssd did fit in the slot (just one slot indeed), but the motherboard didnt recognize it?? right now i got 128gb which i way to little for me. i wil see if i can upload a post of the disk managment.

Either way, send the 990 back, it's overkill for your model. Your M.2 slot is PCIe x4 3.0, so paying extra for the PCIe x4 4.0 990 is money wasted. The 970 or 980 will be just fine and will still run at the full speed your motherboard supports. You will also want an external NVMe case to clone your existing drive to the new one, you can then repurpose the small drive as an external once you are up and running on the big one.

So, quick update: I entered BIOS mode and enabled PCIE, then went on with this tutorial beneath and now it seems my ssd is showing up! so that's good news. Now im thinking of cloning it with the samsung migrate software.

Yeah, most if not all of that tutorial wasn't needed. Just clone the existing drive to the new one and you'll be good.
