Ways I can upgrade my Aspire TC-885?

Hello, Are there any ways I can upgrade my Aspire TC-885 in the hardware sense?

Some of my current specs are...

8 GB of RAM
CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-8400 CPU @ 2.80GHz  2.81 GHz
GPU: Intel (R) UHD Graphics 630

I have never upgraded these specs since I got this Desktop in December 2019.

It will tell you what you currently have and what you can add for memory and SSD's.

Note: If you decide to buy you can always compare the prices by visiting other websites or stores and then you can decide.  We are providing the info of scan app just to show you the upgrade options.  You can even download similar scan apps from other memory upgrade websites too.

To check the compatibility of ram which you can use on your computer.. Get CPUz and check it with that in SPD section of all the RAM and specs that you have, its a quick and simple way to check all OEM specs and what you have in your system.

    For your reference.

    I have a TC-885-UA91, acquired mid 2020. It was shipped with i3-9100 CPU, 500 GB WD SN 520 x2 (1,700 MB/s read) NVMe SSD, 8 GB 2666 MHz DDR4 RAM CL19 ( CPU restricted the speed to 2,400 MHz).

Since then I have added a matching spec 8 GB RAM stick ( different manufacturer) to make it 16 GB total, for dual channel optimal performance. You can add even more RAM than 16GB. Since you seemed to be O.K. with 8 GB RAM,  having 16 GB should be enough.

The WD SN520 x2 drive was replaced with 500 GB Silicon Power A80 x4  (3,400 MB/s) drive, doubling the drive speed.

Since you have a higher grade CPU ( but one generation lower), go to Task Manger and check the Memory section of the Performance tab. You can see at lower right hand side the speed the RAM is operating at. The TC-885 motherboard will allow up to 2666 MHz. With the i5-8400 CPU, it can probably allow 2666 MHz too.

I am not a heavy gamer, so the PCIe 3.0 x16 was still open initially. Added another x4 M.2 NVMe SSD to the x16 slot through an adapter, with a Linux installed on it to allow switching between Win 10 and Linux. Sometimes I switch with even other OS with another NVMe drive and another adapter to this x16 slot.

If you are a gamer you can add a graphics card to this x16 slot. If the card is a powerful one, you may need to upgrade the power supply to something higher than the stock 300W PSU (with enough power connectors for the graphics card).

One thing you may want to check, the narrower side of the M.2 slot, is it 4-pin or 5-pin type? This is important. I have a friend who has i5-8500 CPU PC but the M.2 slot narrower side has only 4-pin, and that only allows x2 M.2 NVMe SSD speed.
