Acer CB311-11H series it will not charge or turn on.

Only a couple of months old and it will not charge or turn on. Went to submit a request to fix and found it is already outside of warranty. Won this as a prize so I have no receipt to show I have only owned it a couple of months.

Cable works fine. I think the problem is with the motherboard. Tried doing a hardware reset but I don't think it works without power. Any suggestions available?

    No they don't. Tried different cables. There cables are good because I've tested them on other devices and they work.

    So it is possible that it is a short in the 19v voltage or in the primary voltages. Without these voltages, the computer will not turn on.

    you are still within your warranty if it's only a couple of months old, just contact Acer support and get it repaired.

    Did the automated check online and it said the Chromebook was no longer under warranty. Since we got it as a prize we have no way to show that it was newer.

    OK, 2021 model, it must have been registered before delivered to you. I'd likely contact Acer support and see if you can get the warranty issue dealt with, since it really is only a couple of months old, even though it's an older model. Unless they sent you a used system… Since the status lights do nothing even with different chargers it's likely as suggested a motherboard issue. :(

    Generally, when there is a short in the 19v voltage, the voltage will fluctuate on the multimeter. Without analyzing, it is difficult to find the defect. However, I can say one thing: if there is a short in the 19v voltage, or the primary voltages are missing, the computer will not turn on and the LEDs will not light up.

    Well this a real bummer. Sounds like not a simple fix. Since I have no way of verifying that the Chromebook was less than a year old from purchase date since it was received as a prize I in essence have a paperweight.
