i noticed that my laptop is using a old intel graphics driver and its makes some problem while playing games to my nvidia card and its not compatible

I download Intel Driver & Support Assistant to update my intel drivers and its showing that my intel graphics driver is Intel® Graphics Driver 31.0.101.4577 for Intel® Arc™ Graphics, 11th-13th Gen Intel® Core™ processor graphics

So the problem its here when i downlos then install the driver ( clean install )

When im using the laptop unplugged the screen its blinking then when i reconnect the charger its working fine

+ its stop blinking while the laptop is unplugged when i set the screen refresh rate 60 its stop blinking but for sure i will not keep using my screen refresh rate at 60 if i have 144 so i need a sulotion to my acer because day by day new problems popup to acer laptop so any support from acer can respong my discussion !!
+ sometimes the laptop is working fine while gaming and sometimes the fps its too bad
Thanks for anyhelp

This problem is due to having the Intel Graphics Command Center > Refresher Setting > On and you need to turn it Off, this happened to my Nitro 5 AN515-56 after an update of the Arc driver which was the previous Arc Intel driver version. also look at this Intel article at "How to Fix a Flickering Screen with Intel® Graphics" if there are other issues, but turning the refresher off should fix that problem like it did for my laptop screen.

Start with doing this for laptops:

    1. Disable the Panel Self Refresh setting in the Intel Graphics Command Center by following these steps, see caption below also:

How to Enable and Disable Panel Self Refresh

Panel self-refresh can save power by allowing the panel to refresh independently. Follow these steps to enable or disable panel self-refresh in the Intel® Graphics Command Center:

From the Windows Start Menu, search for the Intel Graphics Command Center. Double click the Intel® Graphics Command Center icon to open the application.

Click System in the left navigational menu.

In the Power tab, locate Panel Self Refresh and click the On or Off button. To stop the screen blinking you need to have this setting on the OFF settings.

When I did the above and put the "Panel Self Refresh to Off" and I also have a 144Hz refresher rate screen on my Nitro AN515-56, my blinking screen stopped completely, turn the "Panel Self Refresh to Off" as it will stop the blinking of the screen. as the next Intel Arc driver updated to this last version 31.0.101.4577 will work properly and your screen will NOT blink, so wait until the new driver.

Also, you can't stop the Windows Update updating the Intel Arc graphics drivers on your laptop, that problem is the same for everyone as Microsoft Windows Update is not up to date with the latest Intel Arc graphics drivers, and this update you can't stop, so you need to keep updating the driver in Device Manager if it gets reinstalled back to the old Arc driver.

  • The latest version already contains corrections from previous versions. So just install the latest version.

i already have the 1.19 version and still i have the problem also why intel support and driver installer suggest me that my intel driver is arc and iris version 11th 9gen while my laptop is downloading this version display driver 30.0.100.9864

  • When you uninstall the intel and nvidia drivers using the DDU program in safe mode, does the problem persist?

    hello steven

I've tried the intel steps about flickering but didnt work and also yes when i put my screen refresh to 60 its stoping flickering but thats not a solution because i want to keep using my 144 screen refresh rate

And i will try that thing about the panel self refresh with 144 refresh rate not 60

But the first point here its when i update to latest arc version windows update keep roll me back to a previous version like there are files on my laptop that have settings and hardware id to download specific version

and old one and i dont want to change on my group policy like to stop updating my drivers from windows update

  • It is possible that the CRU program can help you solve the problem:

intel support assistant its showing me that i have to update to that version

Also when the okd drivers installed and intel command center its showing me that i have a newer version and after i install the newest one its rolling me back again to the oldest one and also screen again return flickering when laptop is unplugged ( not charging )

Theres too much error in that thing 😂😅

And also i cant see and new drivers on acer manuals and drivers thats so weird

  • OK! As there is still no solution, I advise you to try to reinstall windows, pressing alt+f10 before the acer logo.

Hey "TSAFADI98" this Panel Self Refresh IS NOT in the Intel Arc Control Panel; I've given you the instructions above, this setting is in the Intel Graphics Command Center, to get to this setting you need to do what I've told you in the above post and its like below, read the my above post properly😁
