I found a unit in the USB list. See screen dump. Can it possibly be that one?

  • I think not, that device must be a Bluetooth, USB, have you ever connected one of these to the laptop?

Anyway right click and uninstall, reboot the laptop and check the Blutetooth appears normally.

I think not, but try it.

I am not completely sure. I connected my mobile with a usb cable to install an update, but that was many years ago and the BT has been working years after that.

Just a little remark, I also have a S3 and when comparing the two I discovered that the S3 had the Launch Manager and it pops up with Fn + F3. The s/w is not on the 8943. That is why I thought BT could not be activated without it, but it should be recognized by the Device Maanager… But why is it gone from the 8943, it always came up using that key combination beföre… Could a W10 update possibly corsed that?

I will be away from my desk for a while…

  • I seem to recall but am not sure at this point that Launch Manager was not compatible with Windows 10.

The other computer has Windows 10 and Launch Manager?

Try installing Acer Quick Access when you can:

Yes, the S3 is also on W10 and has Launch Manager.

I will now try to uninstall as you said and reboot again and see… I just remember that I connect the external back-up disk to one of the USB ports, but that should not generate problems like tis…

I will be back soon after rebooting.

  • Install also the Quick Access.

Where do I find the Quick Access?

Believe it or not, when I went back to the Device manager the USB BT was gone so I could not uninstall it. I rebooted the PC and it was still gone and no BT.

Tried to install Quick Access from LOAD.com. It failed on “stopping services”… Perhaps there is a better site to download from…

  • I was looking for it but I can't find it, nor is it available from the download page of your device.

    Hi leonaip,

Thank you for your response to my problem.

I have used Driver Booster for many years, bu that did not help in this case. Besides, when investigating downloaded files on my PC i found the driver. But when installing the driver it gave the message that the device did not have Bluetooth. So that did not solve the problem. Either the BT module is defectice or deactivated.

I also regcognised that the Launch Manager was missing on my PC. If the LM activates (Fn+F3) the BT I can't do it without it.

The whole problem is very confusing…

    Hi again,

The full model name is Aspire 8943G with Intel Core i5, 500GB SSD and 8GB RAM.

I think the driver is okey, but is looks as there is no active BT module, or the module is defectice or the communication with the system is corrupted for some reason.

I was trying to download Acer Quick Access. but the installation stops on “stopping services” askin if I am autorised to allow that. I don't really understand the question as I am logged in as administrator.

The Launch Manager is also gone from the system which was activating/deactivating the BT and WiFi.

do a System Restore or reset to factory image

maybe a malware attack, try to scan the laptop using adwcleaner then smadav then avast premium security or mcafee/symantec endpoint security/protection (windows defender/security is not enough)

you can also perform a clean installation of Windows (it is recommended that you go back to the default O.S. that came pre-installed the day you bought the laptop)

A restore is not an option, that would roll back the PC to W7. I also have all adequate anti virus/anti malware/anti ransomware and endpoint protection running on the device. No indications or warnins whatsoever. The solution lies somwhere else, I just don't know where. But there is evidently no communication between the BT module and the system/driver…

try installing Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit to see if the issue will be solved.

I highly appreciate all your efforts trying to help me solve the problem.

As I cannot read your mind I believe you mean that if BT works with W7 it would not be a hardware communication problem? That would bring us one step further, but it would require so much work as I would would have to replace the current SSD with the old factory installed W7 HHD nstallation. So after testing I would have to reinstall current SSD. It is not a bad idea, but also a risk that something could go wrong during the process which could generate new and more complex problems… I am not too keen on doing that.

The 8943 has two disk slots, but the second slot was not configured with cables assambly. If it was, I would have had both disks working and it would be easy to switch to W7…

What I am trying to do is to install Acer Quick Access to test if that can solve the possible communication problem. But for some reason it stops in the middle of the installation process. I am trying to fins out why that happens. It looks to me as the BT is deactivated or defectice…
