Hello!

After purchasing my Acer Predator 300 SE laptop I had the Acer TrueHarmony app installed. It allowed me to switch the sound profiles on the system. However, after one of the updates the app disappeared. The TrueHarmony sound profile switching functionality is still present in PredatorSense, but the switching no longer works. Is there any way to restore the sound profile switching functionality and the TrueHarmony app itself?

Maybe uninstall your current audio driver and then read the Readme.pdf on how to install the drivers and apps properly. This is your model's driver, btw.

@XdxD When I tried to run this appx bundles, I got a message that I don't have dtsapo4xultrahsa.inf in my OS. I try to install dtsapo4xultrahsa.inf from a nearby directory, but that didn't work. Then I started googling and found this topic DTS: X Ultra can't be installed in Acer Predator Helios 300 PH31 after clean installation of windows. Topicstarter recommended to install all *.inf files from other directories, reboot the computer and only after that try to install appx bundles. With this method I achieved a successful installation.

    Thank you!

I think I found a solution to reinstall the DtsApo4Service correctly. I installed "DTS - SoftwareComponent" and "DTS - AudioProcessingObject" with the latest version for my version of Windows:

    https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Search.aspx?q=dts+apo4x

After that I was able to start the DtsApo4Service correctly manually. DTS:X Ultra finally detected the speakers and was able to switch audio profiles. To be able to switch the DTS:X Ultra profiles from Acer PredatorSense required a PC reboot.

    P. S. I also attach files that have worked for me (Windows 10). I unzipped the CABs as normal archives and installed the INF files from them.

Which update specifically? Is the app available in your model's support page?

You're right. I started looking for Acer TrueHarmony on the cdjtuj laptop downloads page and couldn't find it:

    https://www.acer.com/ru-ru/support?search=NH.QBJEP.002;PT314-51s&filter=global_download

I must have been doing sound profile switching through the X Ultra program, but that's not available right now either. Only DTS Sound Unbound was installed in the App Center of PredatorSense instead. This app (DTS Sound Unbound) does not allow you to switch sound profiles. The removal of X Ultra occurred after one of the major Windows updates about a year ago.

Is there any way to install some Acer app for DTS to switch sound profiles?

You can find the standalone apps inside the Audio driver.

When I chose sound profile "DTS:X Ultra" in PC Setings of sound and try to open standalone app, it opens DTS Sound Unbound, which does not allow me to change the sound profile (((

I mean download the audio driver, uninstall both DTS apps and then install them from the audio driver file. There would be different folders in it.

I uninstalled the audio driver and related applications. Then I reinstalled the Realtek Audio Driver. After that, according to the instructions in Readme.pdf, I tried running Install_DTSAPO4x_Acer_DTSX_Ultra.bat as administrator. I got error 183 in the console. I also attach the log C:/Windows/Logs/DISM/dism.log:

Try running individual installers of DTS:X apps from those 6 folders once.

I already tried it with the command:

    dism.exe /online /Add-ProvisionedAppxPackage /PackagePath: "bc3197149dc74db3a185d93d1c62fc7b3.appxbundle" /LicensePath: "bc3197149dc74db3a18593d1c62fc7b3_License1.xml" /DependencyPackagePath: "Microsoft.NET.Native.Framework.1 .7_1.7.27413.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe.appx" /DependencyPackagePath:"Microsoft.NET.Native.Runtime.1.7_1.7.27422.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe.appx" /DependencyPackagePath:"Microsoft.VCLibs.140.00_14.0.29231.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe.appx"

Error 183 occurs with this package - DTSXUltraHSA_1.10.1.0_x64_bundle.appxupload_Windows10_PreinstallKit.

You can directly run appx bundles like any exe file.

@XdxD It looks like I rejoiced too early: the DTS:X Ultra application is installed, but it doesn't see the speakers and therefore doesn't allow to switch sound profiles. As far as I understood from the topic on the link from the previous post, the problem is in Dtsapo4service.exe service. I tried to run it manually at the command line and got an error like in this thread:

    https://community.acer.com/en/discussion/641194/spin-3-sp313-51n-dts-audio-service-constantly-crashing

I haven't found a way to fix this problem yet 😥

Great to know you found solutions to your problems. Hopefully you won't have to face them again. By the way, keep a Macrium Reflect image backup of your currently perfectly working Windows, just in case you need it in the future.
