Easier to shift them into reverse. 🙂

I've found the software will use the AMD radeon video as the video driver but when connecting to any additional screens those use the NVDIA driver

Hold on! How many external screens are you trying to drive? And how are you connecting them? Are they mirrored screens?

on the desk under test one monitor direct from HDMI but when djing 2 tvs using a powered HDMI splitter, basic adaptors don't work.

The laptop has Vdj on it, I use an extended display and the video output is via HDMI either direct to monitor or to the input of a HDMI splitter, which will take up to 4 screens but I only use 2. When using the TVs they are a patched pair, mirrored.

If I set the software to only use the AMD it will only display the video output on the laptop, and yes at present it is connected to wifi, although interstingly this session over 2hrs 30 its behaving, didn't earlier but I did a reset of VDJ, and tried did not go over the top trying to simplify the settings, I've left stems on

What does the desk under test mean? I thought we were dealing with the nitro laptop now?

Simply I've got it set up on my desk as I would when out djing.

Nitro 5 connected to the SSD video music drive via USB3, Denon Mc6000mk2 midi controller connected via usb laptop running vdj as i would when djing, but the video output for the video play out to a 60hz monitor rather than 2 TV's using the HMDI powered splitter, although I have connected to the monitor direct via HDMI as well. Sound comes from the Denon midi controller via 2 xlr outputs to powered studio speakers. I've done this way as I have a wireless mouse, the usb to the denon and the HMDI output so needed to make sure each element is not cotributing to any issues with the laptop (s).

    Hope that sense.

This SSD should preferably be connected directly to the laptop's controller to cpu/gpu inside, not via external USB & cable intermediaries.

the inbuilt SSD is 512gb but the music / video file size is over 850gb so had to be on a seperate hardrive as there wasn't enough space on it.

Many many years ago when I did audio only it was on the laptop and nearly lost evetrything when the laptop broke. So for the last 10 years I've always keep the videos on an external device as do many other Mobile DJ's. So I currently keep 3 complete copies of my music and video files all on seperate hardrives a master and 2 copies. The external SSD is a copy drive but new material is saved to than then copied to the master and 2nd back up drive.

When I first started having the issue with the original laptop with the standard external 3tb hardrive using USB2, I thought it was the HD so brought a SSD one and copied everything over.

The Nitro has 3 internal drive interfaces inside, of which 2 are likely unused. All with much faster capability than any external drive. Big and fast internal SSD cards and drives are super-cheap these days. And you can still back them up externally which is really an external drive's main purpose, not actually trying to run dj stuff from them in real time. Externally connected drives, particular those storing video content, can be a source of noticeable sync issues if used for anything other than storage & backups.

Intersting to know - will look up as to where and how, I suspect its not going to be particualry easy is it. I'd need to add at least 1tb somehow.

First, you need to find a screwdriver. Then unplug the charger. Then remove 11 screws and pry the bottom cover off. Unplug battery pack. Insert up to two SSD cards or drives as large as you can afford. 2TB sizes are pretty cheap right now. 32 TB cards are available but kinda pricey though probably easily afforded by a successful VDJ such as yourself. 🙂 Button it back up. That's it.

The continuing saga of virtual dj, nvidia advised me to update drivers and install a hot fix, got worse, but managed to get a few hours running eventually - out on a gig 25 minutes in laptops powers off!

I suppose they advised you to load non-ACER generic nvidia updates not meant for the Acer proprietary mainboard? What do you mean by 'hot fix'?

on the advice of nvidia I updated the drivers to the game drivers again, did a hot fix, then a further update applied itself. had it working earlier on today in the office, soon as I put it back in the road worked for 20 minutes with no drop outs although later y monitor was showing various latency issues wdf directx etc as normal then suddenly it shuts down critical kernel power issues.

no idea where to start now virtual dj won't help me anymore as they say its the laptop not their software, nvdia havnt responded some I sent the the info they asked for, it's 50ndays old so can't return it to the store.

Yep, I heard that song before. Sounds more like a broken record. 🙂 You might want to try maxxing the RAM to 32GB and use the integrated AMD GPU. It rivals the discrete nvidia chip and has much closer and faster ties to the rest of the system.
