I haven't used this computer in a while, but now see that the USB-C ports don't work. When I go to device manager, i see a code 43 error for UCM-USCI ACPI device. I tried uninstalling the driver and restarting, but that didn't work. Also, tried to find new driver, but said this was the most up to date. Acer website doesn't seem to have windows 11 drivers for this computer.
I called Acer's outsourced support, which said i needed to roll back the OS to Windows 10, which doesn't really seem like the right answer.
Has anyone else had this issue and been able to fix it? Super frustrating, as I can't use a USB-C hub etc.
Hi,
Could you please post the full model name of your laptop, like SP5xx-xx.
Thanks for the quick reply. it is the SP513-54N-74V2
No problem, go to Device Manager, expand Universal Serial Bus Controllers and check whether there's any driver for Thunderbolt or any yellow triangle warning sign, you can use Windows 10 drivers for the time being, it's sufficient to run Windows 11.
Hi,
Go to Acer support site and download Intel GNA driver, install it and reboot and it will hopefully resolve the issue.
Hi
Go to Acer support site and download Intel GNA driver, install it and reboot and see whether it helps.
Hi, here is what i see in device manager, which is what clued me in to the issue
Tried downloading the GNA driver, but didn't seem to work.
Turn off the laptop, disconnect AC adapter, battery reset pinhole is 3 in my snip, follow the instructions in the video, leave the laptop to rest for 15-20 miniutes, reconnect AC adapter and charge the battery, try again and see whether there's any change.
no luck with that, unfortunately. It does seem to be the usb driver based on the alert above, right? Looks like it should need a new driver, but there doesn't seem to be a newer one. From what Acer site says, the computer is compatible with Windows 11 -- despite what their help desk seemed to be telling me re rolling back to Windows 10
Could you please post the BIOS version in your laptop.
BIOS Version/Date Insyde Corp. V1.10, 3/15/2021
You have the latest version of BIOS as well, sorry, I am running out of ideas😪, leave the thread open, someone else might chime in.
Try uninstalling and deleting this driver. Then restart windows:
Here's what Device Manager should be showing:
