Hi,

I am trying to resolve a problem with my Predator laptop. Windows shows 0% Plugged In, I spent couple of days trying to fix this issue. Here's what I tried:
  1. Deleted battery drivers from Windows
  2. Used pin to reset battery in the back of the machine
  3. Clean reinstall of Windows 10 and 11
  4. Live boot into Linux (ran diagnostics)
  5. Bought brand new battery (I replaced the battery 7 months ago, that one was definetely dead as it was blinking orange/yellow light)
  6. Disconnected the battery and started the laptop
Laptop indicator is glowing yellow/orange all the time. hwinfo64 reports 0% degradation.

Replacement battery arrived this morning and everything works fine now. It was my bad luck to get a faulty replacement battery the first time.

Your machine is currently not compatible with Win11.

If Win10 is now installed with the new battery connected and plugged in, please post a screenshot of DeviceManager.

Also please post a battery-report screenshot as follows.
    (1) Search 'cmd' in Windows start menu.
    (2) Right click command prompt near top of menu.
    (3) Click run as administrator.
    (4) Enter 'powercfg /batteryreport' at command prompt.
    (5) Then return to the desktop. Open file explorer.
    (6) Then search for' battery-report.html' in the c:\windows\system32\ sub-folder. Double-click to open it in the browser.
    (7) Post screenshot of the first part of the report if possible that compares design full charge capacity with its remaining full charge capacity.

    (1) Did you open DeviceManager batteries folder? Or was it already opened when you started Device Manager?

    (2) Also did you try to run battery-report after rebooting and before starting HWInfo?

Unfortunately, the new battery was somehow allowed to drain well below its critical charge level of about 5%. To avoid fire or explosion hazard, the battery's own internal charge controller may prevent re-charging and thus may not be recoverable.

Try this. Open Control Panel. Search 'button'. Click 'change what the power buttons do' in left pane. Click 'change settings that are currently unavailable' in the next pane. Then scroll down and UNcheck the box for  fast startup if not already unchecked.

Then shutdown Windows normally with the charger plugged in. Allow the machine to charge in the off state until the battery charge LED turns from solid orange to solid blue. This may take up to 24hours if the battery is recoverable.

I'll try this with the new battery and the old one and post the results

New battery failed to charge after 24h, I called the store and returned the battery. I am going to try with the old battery (one bought 7 months ago) but I have no hope.

If the old battery also fails to charge, then check the voltage output of the charger plug's outer barrel and center hole. Should be 19v DC.

Just found my multimeter and checked 19.10v, that should be fine

OK. Good. Just leave the old battery plugged in for at least 24 hrs. But remember, it could also be unrecoverable because it might've been allowed to drain below the critical charge level.
