My old laptop, an ASUS GL703G laptop died not long ago and I have just purchased a new Nitro 5 which came standard with 8Gb RAM and a 512Gb SSD.
I pulled my old ASUS laptop apart and salvaged the 16Gb RAM chip, the 256Gb SDD drive and the 1TB 2.5" drive with the intention of boosting my RAM and adding the extra storage to my new Nitro 5.
The RAM was no problem and its comfortably running the 16Gb no problem.
I have tried installing both additional drives however and I cannot get either to be recognised in the BIOS as being installed.
I've followed the ACER videos on Youtube for installing both the types of drives and neither is successful.
I plugged the 2.5" drive into a desktop PC and it works fine and I did a complete reformat of the drive but still the new laptop does not recognise it.
I have tried both the drives individually (leaving the current 512Gb installed obviously) and also all of them together but no success.
The SSD drive im trying to install is a Sandisk X600 SSD m.2 2280
Any help would be appreciated.
