Hi:
I want to install a

HyperX Kingston Technology Impact 32GB Kit (2x16GB) 2400MHz DDR4 CL14 260-Pin SODIMM Laptop HX424S14IBK2/32

Memory module on my Predator 17 and I need to know if there´s something I need to change in the setup (XMP profile) and also what are the max specs for a memory of this brand I can install. I saw here that the max frequency permitted is 2400 but what about latency? Now I see that this memory has been discontinued so I can´t buy another 32Gb pack. Can I combine it with another set of the same quality and performance? Do you know why this great low latency memory has been discontinued?

Model number:  G9-793-79V5
Part number:     NH.Q1TAA.001
CPU:                 Intel Core i7-7700HQ
GPU:                 NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070
OS:                   Microsoft Windows 10 Home (x64) Build 19043.1165 (21H1)

@Alexcscu yes it will work on any 7th gen cpu 2400mhz max you can go hyperx or vengeance those are the only 2 i would recommend for the best performance i have the same cpu also u cant change anything xmp related as all bios from all manufacturers are locked so you have to stick with what the sodimms can boost up to the hyperx has xmp built in and will auto overclock itself if needed to in some rare cases but most cases xmp needs to be enabled in the bios which as i already said no one is able to do it without unlocked bios and thats not allowed to talk about in this community at all it will give instant permanent ban also i dunno where u read that the hyperx impact 2400mhz 32gb dual channels kit has been discontinued if you google it you will find loads of kits on sale on ebay and other shops  and you also have vengeance which is as good as hyperx but doenst have xmp built in which its irrelevant for you anyways as u wont be able to use it  good luck :)

My advice and the best for you is to run the Crucial System Scanner, or use their Crucial Advisor Tool, so you can accurately check the amount of memory your system can support and what type of memory is best for your laptop.

As I've told you on another post, use the Crucial memory scan for the appropriate ram for your laptop, as we can't provide you with the service guide.

    The discontinued ones are the

    HX424S14IBK2/32

These are the only ones with CL 14 from this brand, and as many people say you can't use packs with different latencies, then I can't combine mine with another CL15 pack right? That's what I mean. Now I can't get another CL 14 Pack of 32GB.

@Alexcscu yes thats correct but i dont see them discontinued as it previously said they are still available i found them on amazon ??? but they are still expensive but not as they were in 2018 i remember my laptop costed me £1100 on 2 year loan agreement and i spent £800 more in upgrades £400 ram and another £400 the 2tb ssd also you would be just fine with vengeance if you want to save some money CL16 still fine either way its your choice  i sold my 32gb hyperx 2666 to a friends a nitro 5 8th gen with a 1050 4gb non ti because as you know the 7th gen wont support 2666 and i got another 32gb vengeance 2400 its exactly the same performance :)

Also as i understood you already have 32gb correct and want to upgrade to 64gb  ?? i wouldnt you wouldnt gain anything from it 32gb its already way overkill for any average user plus your hardware would never use it  i consider myself as a push every device i own to the very limits and i have never used more than 16% of my ram and for ex chrome uses 5/6gb or more at all times i have about 200+ tabs open and can still have all the available game stores launchers open and game without any issues so yeah u dont need 64gb even if u do rendering works or content creation youre limited to your hardware which will not use all ram anyways  :)

Yes, you can find it in Amazon,  but is not available and in the kingston web site the say this model is discontinued.Anyway for me it'll be an important upgrade cause my Predator came with 16GB CL17 and replacing them with these beauties will be a win win. Besides, they costed me $119 and that price was not seen anymore. I agree, 32GB is a lot. No need for more.
