Hi,

"Nitro ANV15-51" is my Laptop model that I bought last week after researching online for possible max upgrades for it a week before buying the laptop, found people had commented with 96gb upgrades as well. I intend to use it for couple of years so I had planned on upgrading it max before buying.

But it seems I have didn't pay attention in my initial research as this Nitro 15 has several models and it seems I mixed up all of them.

Right now I was trying to find compatible RAM to upgrade for this model, but as per my understanding it seems, this model can only hold up to 32 GB ram max. If thats the case I am going to be sad as I had bookmarked a 64GB RAM available at a good deal.

Anyone here who can confirm if this is correct? Laptop model is "Nitro ANV15-51", i5 13420.

Thank you

    Hey @alex _the_great01,

You're absolutely right to be cautious—nobody wants to gamble on 96GB RAM without solid confirmation. Even 64GB is pushing it, and while Crucial lists it as “possible,” there’s a big difference between theoretical support and real-world validation.

🔍 What We Know So Far

    • Your Nitro ANV15-51 with i5-13420H is part of the newer lineup, but Acer hasn’t officially documented support beyond 32GB.
    • The Intel Ark page for the i5-13420H confirms DDR4/DDR5 support up to 64GB, but that’s CPU-level, not motherboard-level.
    • Crucial’s configurator sometimes lists 64GB as “compatible,” but that’s based on chipset potential—not Acer’s actual firmware limits.

    🧪 Real-World Testing?

So far, no confirmed reports of 64GB working on this exact model. Most users stick to 32GB, and anything beyond that is uncharted territory. If someone does try 64GB and it works, they’d be doing the community a huge favor by posting results.

    💡 Bottom Line

Until someone tests 64GB and confirms stability (boot, BIOS recognition, no throttling), it’s best to treat 32GB as the safe ceiling. If you’re eyeing a good deal on 64GB, maybe hold off unless there’s a return policy.

Let me know if you want help decoding Crucial’s specs or checking with other vendors like Kingston or TeamGroup.

I suggest that you follow the Crucial RAM upgrade guide for the Nitro ANV15-51 model that you have (btw, Crucial RAM is a Micron ram) as they have a 64GB kit at 2x 32GB DDR5-5600MT/s CL46 here; Crucial 64GB Kit (32GBx2) DDR5-5600 SODIMM and this ram will be downclocked in your ANV15-51 to a DDR5-5200MT/s speed as the cpu in your Nitro ANV15-51 laptop has a max 5200MT/s speed, so it will not work at the 5600MT/s speed of the actual ram. The 64GB kit that you have if its a DDR5-5600MT/s CL46 it will work in the ANV15-51, but be patient, as when you fit this new ram, the laptop can take up to 3min for this bigger capacity ram to register with the system before ethe laptop boots.

If you want to go even higher to the higher and max ram at 96GB/5200MT/s capacity/speed of the 13th Gen cpu in your laptop, technically it is the CPU that determines the compatibility with the RAM in terms of frequency and maximum size which in the ANV15-51 situation its 96GB at max DDR5-5200MT/s speed, so fitting the DDR5-5600MT/s CL46 type ram should work in these 13th Gen cpu's and DDR5 type ram.

Btw, I've upgraded my 2023 MFG laptop with the Crucial 64GB DDR5 kit in my Predator Neo PHN16-71 -50JG model that has an i5-13500HX cpu/RTX4050 gpu/ and my cpu has a max Intel designed ram capacity/speed of 128GB/4800MT/s, so my 64GGb kit is at 2x 32GB DDR5-4800MT/s CL40 (which is another kit that Crucial recommends for your ANV15-51laptop) and this 64GB kit works 100% and perfectly in my PHN16-71 laptop and never ever had a BSOD or crash. Good luck and hope this helps you out further.
