I have The Acer Nitro 5 An515-58 which come with I7-12600H 16GB Ram and RTx 3060. I have disabled optimus option from Bios and running on Discreat GPU only . Also I'm on Balanced Power Option from control panel. My Settings in Nitro scene are auto speed fans and default Preference . When the cpu frequency reaches 4 GHz which is the max, the cpu temperature spikes to 100 and the device shutdown automatically . Fans rotates at 4500 Rpm . I have changed thermal paste , clean the dust but It is the same and this never happend to me since I bought this laptop in 2023 . I'm on this options since I get this Laptop . Is this Normal?

It depends what you are using the laptop for, if this only happens in extreme gaming then its normal but if this happens all the time with default usage then it should not be happening as there is something wrong with the laptops fans.

The AN515-58 with the 12th Gen CPU/VGA fans should perform like below and in the vicinity of 100°C the laptop should shut down but the CPU fan should be spinning at more than 4500rpm and in the range of 6900rpm while the VGA fan should be spinning at the same rate and the temps shpould never ever reach 100°C for the laptop to shutdown. Your fans spinning at 4500rpm is too low hence and why the laptop overheats and shuts down. I suggest that you change both fans and see if the temps are reduced.

Also for the Nitro AN515-58 you should be using a high grade gaming paste and putty from the Thermal Grizzly range below, as I've used this on my Nitro AN515-56 and it works perfectly and has reduced temps by 15°C plus and also use a good gaming tablet cooler as all this will reduce temps considerably and will never ever allow your laptop to reach the shutdown temps of 100°C for the cpu and 95°C for the gpu. Good luck and hope this helps you out.

Thermal Grizzly paste and putty you should use in your AN515-58 laptop:

The fans rotates at 6000 rpm when I Choose custom fan speed option from nitro sence but when are set on auto the speed is about 4500 rpm at almost 100 degree . Should it reach to 6000rpm automatically when Device is hot ? Or should I Increase it manually when I notice that the device Is hot ?

yes it should reach 6900rpm automatically as the laptop is set so that temps do not reach 100°C and at shutdown, that is why I suggested that you replace the fans or take your laptop to tech and get them to pinpoint the exact fault in your laptop, as it could be a temp sensor.

Hey, which thermal paste you used? How long you been using this laptop? Are you using cooling pad?

It's not normal. Laptop should be able give max performance without reaching 90°C. Like new.

You probably didnt apply good quality thermal paste or didn't clean vents properly. Will you able to do cleaning and thermal pasting again but this I will guide you properly and you have to do it in my way. Agree?
