Hello everyone,

I play only Csgo on my Nitro 517-51 (i7-9750, GTX 1660 Ti 6Gb, 32 Gb Ram) and I want to max my fps by playing on "High Performance" battery settings.
The laptops temperature reaches max 94C  and it stays between 85C.
Is it too much?

I already replaced the thermal paste but Iam worried if this temp is still too high.
Do you have any ideas how could I drop temp?
What is the normal temperature Nitors should have while gaming?

Thank you very much :)

You might be able to use Intel XTU to change certain settings for your CPU.
Also research at google for undervolting programs ( Throttlestop is one)
PLEASE BE CAREFUL ABOUT WHAT YOU CHANGE
if your not sure about a setting, dont change it until you find out what it does. (Use google)

Try getting a good laptop cooling pad.
I have a cheap Nitro 5 and air intakes at the bottom  are very small so overheating is normal.
I have 2 small usb fans blowing air into each side of my Nitro 5 and a cooling pad that raises it of the ground. My setup is not ‘quiet’ but my temps are more manageable.
Also you wont hear the fans when gaming because of my speakers/headphones.

    solutions-
    1)Fps cap
Capping fps to lower value like 60, 100, 120, 140, etc can greatly lower cpu temperature and keep cool
(Cap you fps through Nvidia software or use RTSS)

2)Prop the laptop up with books around the sides to reduce heat
Grab stack of 2-4 books that are equally thick. Slide the spine of a book 2–3 inches (5.1–7.6 cm) under the right side of the laptop. Do the same on the left side of the laptop.

[You can also Buy good cooling pad in which stands are inbuilt, its better than books]

3)You can follow this below guide completely to reduce Cpu load and increase game performance-

Note- Cleaning air vents and fans are also important as applying good quality thermal paste correctly..

    Best thermal paste correctly-

(X method is recommended for new users and use good quality thermal paste like Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut or Arctic MX-5 new edition)

-Applying thermal paste too much or very less also cause overheating, Just draw X on your CPU/GPU chip in this way that it doesn't spread out of chip when applying heatsink

-Never remove heatsink after applying new thermal paste because Once you remove the heatsink off, you create a void or air bubbles get inside where the thermal paste used to be and
risk of overheating because of the unprotected areas.
