Aspire 3 A315-41 R66A won't boot with 8GB RAM placed in Slot 1 but works fine when placed in Slot 2

So I have an Acer Aspire 3 A315-41 R66A laptop that needed a RAM upgrade.

The laptop already ran 2x4 GB DDR4 (one of those is SK Hynix 1Rx16 PC4-2400T-SC0-11 that came with the laptop itself, the other one is a TeamGroup TED44G2400C16-SBK, not sure if it's 1Rx16 or 1Rx8) on each slot.

  1. I installed 2x8 GB DDR4 (SK Hynix 1Rx8 PC4-2400T-SA0-10) and it won't boot.
  2. I tried installing only one of the 8 GB stick on the first slot, both of them, individually. It won't boot too.
  3. I tried installing the 8 GB stick on the first slot with the old 4 GB stick on the second slot. It still won't boot.
  4. Finally, I switched the placement, the 8 GB on the second slot and the 4 GB (the TeamGroup one) on the first slot. It boots just fine. CPU-Z detected the 8 GB stick. Tried using both of the 8 GB stick.
  5. I also already updated the BIOS.

My laptop run 4GB+8GB currently with one of the new stick, but it's far from ideal.

So, what problem do I have? Why does the 8 GB stick works on Slot 2 but not Slot 1? Is it even compatible with this model?

Thank you.
