Acer Nitro V15-41-Query reg: RAM & SSD Upgradation Can anyone help me?

Hi there,

I have 2 questions.

1. Does Acer allow their customer to upgrade their laptop? (e.g.: RAM, SSD) Will doing so void my warranty, because i just bought it in August 2024.
2. I just realised till today that my Total Available memory is 5.8GB, which is lower than my Installed original memory of 8GB ram.. Can anyone help me why this thing happen, and how can i fix it? I don't know since when this problem come as i did not see the task manager for a long time. here I'll attach a screenshot of my task manager. Hope anyone can help me, Thanks!! This problem really annoys me while doing work and gaming as it slow down my laptop huhuu

1. Sadly, mine has the sticker tho. Is there any other way, or this mean i 100% cant do any changes on my laptop until the warranty is finish? I really need to upgrade the ram because doing work here is quite annoying with this low ram.
2. How do i check BIOS update for my laptop?

1. Contact acer customer care using below link I provided and ask them. If they say you can remove then you can upgrade. I am telling you this because some other users did update their laptop with having seal without voiding warranty. You should confirm first from here- support.acer.com
2. When acer logo appears on startup, press F2 to boot into bios. Check bios version and exit.

Then visit acer support page ( link provided in bios update guide) and check if newer version of bios is available or not.

1. Do you have a warranty sticker on top of the one of the screws? (Like shown in below image) If not then the warranty will not be voided.
   

If your laptop doesn't have this seal then RAM or SSD upgrade by yourself generally will not void your warranty as long as you do not damage any parts during the upgrade process

2. Just make sure you bios is updated as recently one acer laptop get this issue fix with with bios update. If you still get same issue then this is normal. Amd IGPUs take ram around 2.1GB as hardware reserved.

Others companies laptops with some amd CPUs getting same amount of ram reserved by system.

nice! thank you very much mate! my ram problem has been solved after updating my bios version.. now the total physical memory is at 7.3GB out of 8GB which is as before. Thanks again, and btw do you mind explaining why such problem happens?

I don't know it could be a mistake from Acer's side, as this started happening in the latest BIOS version released a few months ago, and later Acer fixed it in a newer BIOS version.

As for the upgrade, you may be able to upgrade without voiding the warranty, as some users confirmed that the seal is not important. Contact Acer from the link I shared and confirm.
