Around this time last year my laptop screen would not work when powered on. The predator boot logo is shown but as soon as it would go to the windows login screen it goes black. The keyboard LEDs are also stuck on white during this time. It works if its connect it to an external display. I have been occasionally been able to get the screen working, but I haven't found any way to do it consistantly. I reinstalled windows twice and there was another forum I found wiht the same issue, but the person there said he rolled back the drivers and that fixed it, but my computer has no history of drivers to roll back to since I reset it.

my screen has been stuck on Black screen from update in Predator Triton 500 SE — Acer Community

This is the link to that forum

I don’t know which exact Predator Triton 500se you have, if its the PT316-51s or the PT516-51s or 52s as it would help if you gave us the exact model number which is written on a sticker underneath the laptop., so that we could refer you to the correct Acer part numbers if you needed to replace any. But the screen being black has a few issues that could be the cause of this problem with your laptop, and they could all be the following:

Note: before disconnecting the eDP cable from the mainboard or screen you need to disconnect the main battery of the laptop and adapter so that the laptop has no power going into it, as and if you don’t, you will cause permanent damage to the laptop and you will get no graphics and/or a booting laptop.

    1. The driver corruption could be one of the problems that you should look at.
    2. Look at the laptops eDP cable and plugs, first check the mainboard eDP plug if its pins are not burnet as then the screen plug for the same, then the actual cable if its not damaged and its data wires are broken.
    3. But the main culprit could be the actual gpu that is fried as it mosfet that fitters the 19V current to the gpu has shorted and allowed the 19v to fry the gpu, which needs to be disconnected so that the cpu graphics only can be used

This is the eDP cable of the PT316-51s, check the circled plugs at the mobo and screen

Good luck and hope all this helps you out.
