What are the voltages for each USB 3.0 header pin of Aspire ATC-710-EB51

The two USB ports at the front panel of my Acer Aspire ATC-710-EB51 stopped working, so I decided to unplug the USB to motherboard cable and test the USB 3.0 header pins with a multimeter to determine if the cable is the problem or the header. When I checked the voltages of each pin, I got almost 5 volts for pins 1 and 19, and I didn’t touch pins 4, 7, 13, and 16 since they’re ground. Pin 11 had a little over 1 volt, pins 2 and 3 had no voltage and the rest of the pins had 0.25 to 0.3 volts. So my question is what voltage should I be seeing when testing the pins for voltage with a multimeter?

The USB 3.0 header on the Acer Aspire ATC-710-EB51 typically follows the standard pinout for USB 3.0 headers. Here are the voltages for each pin:

    Pin 1 (Vbus): +5V
    Pin 2 (D-): Data line, typically 0V to 3.3V
    Pin 3 (D+): Data line, typically 0V to 3.3V
    Pin 4 (GND): Ground
    Pin 5 (StdA_SSRX-): SuperSpeed receiver, typically 0V to 3.3V
    Pin 6 (StdA_SSRX+): SuperSpeed receiver, typically 0V to 3.3V
    Pin 7 (GND): Ground
    Pin 8 (StdA_SSTX-): SuperSpeed transmitter, typically 0V to 3.3V
    Pin 9 (StdA_SSTX+): SuperSpeed transmitter, typically 0V to 3.3V

Delete your driver and re-install or update the driver software.

Other than that look for broken twisted pins in all USB Ports as others can affect all of them.

There are 19 pins in this USB header, which is what the 3.0 version has

I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers and they’re all up to date. None of the pins seem to have any damage, as you can see in this picture:

You might do a recover or reset in System Settings.

Just be careful to not wipe your data just go to System Settings < recovery

Now all USB ports are not working, so I can’t access anything on the computer, although it does boot up normally

So you did the recovery and now NO USB's are working and WHAT can't you access ?

Does it go into Windows or what ???

I didn’t get a chance to do the recovery, yesterday when I booted up the computer there was a black screen that said no USB devices are connected, and then it continued to boot normally. The keyboard, mouse and printer are all connected by USB so it wasn’t detecting any of them, and when I tried restarting the computer it produced the same results, so now I can’t do anything on the computer because all USB ports have now failed

    Oh No.

Have you tried disconnection the mouse/printer and keyboard one at a time ? As maybe one is locking them up.

Try "Remove power and all cables from the desktop, and press and hold the power button for 30 seconds. Plug power back in to the desktop and see if the computer will power on"

Someone else had this problem and I'll do some research unless someone remembers. I'm not sure if the problem was resolved ????

I tried both methods you mentioned but neither of them resolved the issue. Here is a picture of what appears on the screen momentarily during startup

    His solution:

I contacted Acer support Australia and it turns out that it is a relatively simple solution; connect wired keyboard, then with computer off press and hold computer on button for 15 seconds, then press on button and whilst it is starting press Delete key multiple times/continuously to enter BIOS, then press F9 and press enter to load default configuration.

I can now use Bluetooth keyboard and mouse and can login again.

His was a blue tooth keyboard and mouse so may not be important BUT the the press and hold then delete procedures may be important.

I'm out of guess except pull the battery, and ac plug . Let it sut overnight then plig the ac & battery back

Check again for. Bent pins and loose cables.

CALL SUPPORT and or a .Computer repairman

Try botting without keyboard or mouse, alternative.

could a failing cmos battery be the issue?

I don't think so but it is worth a try to replace it. Good Luck.

I replaced the cmos battery because I read somewhere that a failing cmos battery may cause hardware configuration issues or may cause the certain hardware to be undetectable, but it didn’t resolve the issue. The computer still doesn’t detect any USB devices, and it won’t boot into the operating system because it’s waiting for me to press either F1 or Del. Here is the image of the screen that appears:

Did you try a different keyboard and disconnect the mouse PLUS

then with computer off press and hold computer on button for 15 seconds, then press on button and whilst it is starting press Delete key multiple times/continuously to enter BIOS, then press F9 and press enter to load default configuration.

I'm wondering if this happened after a software update ?

I tried what you said with a different keyboard and the computer boots normally but does not detect the keyboard so even though I was pressing Delete I couldn’t enter BIOS. There have been no software updates recently, not in a while actually
