A few years back, my Acer A514-52-78MD Motherboard fried after 2.5 years of ownership. I decided about a month ago to invest in a new motherboard on Ebay. I swapped parts and EVERYTHING WORKS…But Camera and a Bios Flaw.
Is there a hot key I am forgetting about that enables the Camera on this Model (Seem to Recall I had to do Something to "Activate the Camera" in the Past.
I am reusing an old install but can't recall if the Camera Worked with this installation or not. I presume it did? None the less, the Camera isn't activating now but the MIC is working?
- Originally, the Camera was listed under "Show Hidden Devices" but I removed those drivers when Camera wasn't working / activating. I did this in an effort to "reinstall those drivers" in the event they were corrupted. I should have made note of the Camera Drivers installed but Did not.
- I checked Privacy Settings and Everything is Enabled in Windows 10 for the Camera. I also attempted using Windows 11 without success. Neither Windows 10 or 11 located the Camera or Drivers. Nothing Shows under Hidden Devices
- The camera is listed as a KS0HD06012 (CNFHH6221004970LH). I've checked the cable to the camera (Took off LCD Bezel) and the cable is properly seated. Obviously, the cable shares a connection with the Camera + LCD, so the Cable must be working to be powering the LCD. However, the cable to the Camera (May?) be faulty I guess? Although, The Mic to Record Works on Laptop. I believe Mic is Built into Camera?
- I am Getting NoCameraAreAttached Error in "Camera App" and NOTHING for the camera shows under Device Manager Now.
I have tried Numerous Drivers without Success. Any Guidance here is appreciated. I already read through this forum extensively and had ZERO LUCK. It seems to be a VERY COMMON issue that Acer has No Specific Driver and People can't get their camera to work.
Obviously, If this is software versus a hardware failure, I'd rather not be throwing money and parts to replace cable + camera.
Any help / guidance is appreciated before I traverse the replacing hardware step, with NO GUARANTEES that fixes of course.
