Acer Nitro 515-55-53E5 USB Problems

It's been a year since I've had the same problem with no response from Acer services. My laptop model "Acer Nitro 515-55-53E5" is unable to recognize USB 2.0 devices, literally unable. It perfectly recognizes any device larger than 3.0. The 2.0 bus for some reason does not exist on my laptop, and now after installing Windows 11 Home/Pro, Ubuntu, Kali and again Windows 10 Home/Pro I got the official ISO of Windows 10 Home that the laptop comes with by default and it didn't even work like that.

This problem affects both the internal camera and external cameras, hubs and some storage units. I'm tired of the only way to connect any device to this laptop being through Bluetooth.

The only thing I haven't been able to do is downgrade the BIOS, it's currently at 2.6, every time I try it Windows 10 crashes (I've never tried using Ubuntu or Kali).

Attached is an image of the only Bus Controllers I currently have (It is showing the hidden devices). (Actual)

In that post I thought my main problem was the laptop's internal camera, but no. The problem is that the laptop is unable to recognize a 2.0 device on any USB port, or HUB. Most hubs don't recognize it.

I don't understand the error itself, because I attached two examples of devices that work via Bluetooth but not via cable.

I have a Logitech MX Master 3S mouse that doesn't work via cable but does via Bluetooth.

I have a ProtoArc L98 keyboard that doesn't work via cable but does via Bluetooth.

If I try to use any of these devices via cable it simply doesn't recognize the drivers, even when they've already been installed via Bluetooth!

If the only answer I get again is "You have a Possible Hardware Problem", please give me the direct contact for support in my country (Venezuela).

I couldn't find an official repair shop in my country. And no unofficial technician knows how to identify the problem. I don't know how to fix it.

Hi, you can't "downgrade" BIOS, Windows11 security won't allow that for a very good reason. What I recommend is bringing the laptop to Acer Services in your country to check this issue as USB3.0 is fully downward compatible and should work with USB2.0 devices unless there is incompatible firmware with none Plug and Play devices but even so this should work.

First, I don't have Windows 11. In the post I clarified that I have Windows 10 Home, the original version that comes with the laptop by default with all the applications like Norton or the Planet9 Link app.

Second, I asked if the answer was "take it to the nearest service" to give me the direct contact, since in my country (Venezuela) there is no ACTIVE one!!

It sounds like you are encountering an error "Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed)" on your Windows 10 which leads to an unworking keyboard. Sorry to hear this. The cause of this issue can be damaged/outdated driver, insufficient/unstable power supply, missing drive letter or drive letter conflict, etc.

The solutions below can be tried to fix the error.

    1. Reinstall the USB driver.

Press Windows + X and open the Device Manager > Expand the Universal Serial Bus Controllers > Right-click on the USB device which is not being recognized by Windows and select Properties > Click Uninstall > After that, visit the brand manufacturer's official website and download the latest version of the driver and install it.

    1. Disable Fast Startup.

Open the Control Panel and set the view mode as big icons > Click on Power Options > Select Choose what the power buttons do in the left pane > Click on Change settings that are currently unavailable > Under Shutdown settings, uncheck the box next to Turn on fast startup (recommended) > Then click on the Save changes button > Restart your PC.

    1. Change Settings of USB Root Hub.

Press Windows + X and open the Device Manager > Expand the Universal Serial Bus Controllers > Right-click on USB Root Hub and click Properties > Shift to the Power Management tab > Uncheck Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power and click OK.

    1. Check and repair disks.

Type: cmd from the Windows search box > Right-click on Command Prompt and click Run as administrator > In the open command prompt window, enter: chkdsk C: /f /r [C: refers to the drive letter of the system disk, you can change the drive letter according to the actual location where the application is installed] > Hit Enter key to run the command.

No, the problem persists. I've tried those steps many times. And no, it's not a keyboard, the device that it doesn't recognize is the laptop's internal camera. The keyboard works perfectly, both the internal one and the external one that I'm currently using via Bluetooth. What drivers should I install if I've already installed all the ones from the official Acer website for my model and none of them solve the problem? Should I give up on the laptop since in my country there seems to be no official ACER support?
