Can't reset Acer Aspire 5 with a recovery drive

Bought this new in 2022, had the the problem immediately that you couldn't reset it, not from the drive, not from the cloud, not from a recovery drive, just put up with it. Last year I had a new drive installed, maxed the RAM at 20GB and had fresh install of windows, made a recovery drive immediately. Now I want to reset it, and it still won't reset, goes through a bit of activity, and then when it reboots, it says the reset couldn't be performed and no files changed, it gives no other code or message.

Hi, this happens when the protected recovery volume on the boot drive is not compatible with a newly installed OS version after you Clean installed Windows or have used Reset this PC. Also, when you had a major Windows update and did not make a new Recovery USB disk the recovery will fail with the old WindowsRE version, for this reason you have to make monthly a full backup of your boot drive to an external USB backup drive like a 2-4TB Seagate BU Plus case with W7 BU Image file creator that you can still find in the Control Panel of W11 and that will make also a new Recovery USB disk to restore the backup or repair the system. What you can do now is take the boot drive out and connect it to a USB adapter cable then copy your data to another PC. Reformat the external drive and reinstall it in your Aspire 5 laptop, clean install Windows11 and transfer your old files from the other PC.

What is the exact Aspire 5 model number like A515-XX as that would help. You need to do a clean install of the appropriate windows OS for your model Aspire 5 laptop and install the appropriate IRST driver if your Aspire 5 needs this driver and all the appropriate bios and firmware updates and windows updates. as that is what is probably missing.

You don't the vendor to provide an installation USB, you can make one yourself. If your Aspire 5 laptop is a new laptop and running Win-11 (check the model number on the sticker on the back, it should say A515-XX-XXXX) then do a bootable installation USB with Rufus 4.5 and download the Win-11 23H2 .ISO file to use with Rufus, then go to the Acer support page of your Aspire 5 model and download the IRST driver that is there and put this unzipped IRST driver onto the bootable USB drive so that you can install this driver when the Win-11 installation asks you "Where do you want to install Windows? > Load driver and you load this IRST driver so that your boot M.2 drive is recognized, its a simple process.
