Does Acer "condition" the laptop batteries before shipping their laptops out?

I have just read this article: https://community.acer.com/en/kb/articles/80-how-to-charge-and-care-for-your-acer-battery

on what I am supposed to do with the laptop's battery.

Upon receiving my laptop, I just turned it on. Win11 was already on and set the battery to "optimised battery charging".

I am wondering if this was the right thing. Shall I let it drain to 0% and charge 3 times to max in order to get the most out of the battery?

Thanks.

The "Condition" you are referring to is called: "Full Charge Cycle" that you only have to do once with a new battery or after a fresh install of Windows. Yes, laptop vendors are supposed to do that as it is stipulated in the battery manufacturer flyers. You are not supposed to do anything with your battery, just ignore it like your do with your mobile phone and iPad batteries but make sure it is 100% charged at all times and leave the adapter/charger plugged in 24/7 unless you are traveling or in an area without a power outlet. I also recommend uninstalling Acer Care Center and not to use any Battery Charge Limiting bloatware. Uninstall also all 3rd-party programs, trial versions, browsers and anti-virus programs pre-installed on your laptop. Note that uninstalling anti-virus programs require proprietary uninstallers you can download from their website.

No, you should not let your laptop battery run out before charging. If you do, it could damage the battery and shorten its life span. Here’s why: Lithium-ion batteries don’t like to be discharged too much. They prefer to stay above 20 percent charge; below that, they start to experience what’s called “stress.”

    Thanks for the answer.

I normally let the laptop on battery once a month and keep it on the battery until it runs out of juice. I have been told that this extended battery life. Is it so?
